Another Harrison Chevy
Hello to everyone!
I have been a long time visitor (3 years) to the forum and I thought it was time to join and take part in all the banter (because mine will be Chevy powered) and share my build. I have to say that I have picked up a lot of great ideas and had a lot of laughs reading all the posts. I bought a Harrison kit about 10 months ago but progress has been slow (OK nearly stationary) for various reasons, mainly an unfinished back yard after building. I have been to Warick for a track day and met a couple of people at Warick's shop and just recently got stuck into the build and I'm having a ball. I am going to write another post shortly about gauges (my most recent purchase) so if anyone does a search it will come up. Oh, and to make a plug for the company I bought them off. Anyway that's it for now and I will hopefully catch up with some of the Qld Cobra people around the traps. Regards, AC COB Guy |
As someone said to me after I aquired my car "Welcome to the nuthouse"
Even though it has a chev in it the body is still a beautiful thing and will provide many a smile per mile |
I said my Harrison was going to be Chevy powered too....

Well done Guy and what a great choice of kit/engine. Don't listen to Merv, he realises his mistake after going back to the boat anchor brigade. ;)
Your progress has been similar to mine but while I have a decent back yard, because I'm renting the cramped garage has been the problem. Looking back I'm grateful that I've had the time to properly research a few things - I guess that's one upside. Did you purchase VDO gauges, Howards Instruments or... other? Best of luck and remember, without pictures it didn't happen! Paul |
Welcome to the nut house .
After 3 years of lurking I'd bet you have most of the answers.:JEKYLHYDE However, don't be afraid to ask if unsure of anything. What side of Brisvegas you from? |
Welcome
Guy,
Great to see you on the forum. I must say what a great combination. A Harrison Cobra platform and a Chevrolet engine. :3DSMILE: As Tim the Toolman Taylor would say, "Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh!!!". :D Are you going with the 5.7l , 6l, 6.2l or 7 l????? regards Mick |
Thanks for the Welcome.
Paul - see my separate post I am about to do re the gauges. I will put pictures in my gallery over the next few days. Rebel1 - I thought there was only one side to Brisbane...The North Side...of course. Out near Strathpine way. Mick - At this stage I am going for the 6l. As tempting as it might be to go all the way, I don't see the need in a car that only weighs a whisker over 1000kg. I have a very interesting article on these engines and with little upgrades, 500 plus horsepower can be achieved. More than enough for a Sunday arvo blat. Guy |
