Default Beer

Peter,

The best way is a slab of beer, a cool garage and a mate to assist.

They are not the easiest to remove.

No Stiffy has it wrong....

A cool garage, a slab of beer or bourbon substitute, a comfortable chair and a mate to do all the work!!

Then it's a piece of cake.....for you!!

But seriously if the RMC is the same as the G-Force you may be able to manipulate the radiator out the top.

Means removing bonnet hinges and so forth from above the front top cross member and provided there is enough room for the radiator to lay back off the front of the bottom rails and the lower radiator brackets ( may have to unbolt these off the chassis).

Hopefully someone with an RMC and this experience will now chime in with the real answer.

Best of luck.

Still think my first option is your best bet!

Its Radiator Origami Time - Yay!
(takes two to play)

After removing all vital fluids from the cooling system pop the hood and prop up the front end of the car

The RMC supplied radiator is wider than the mouth of the Cobra and there is not enough room to drop it down between the frame rails.

Get your friend (for now) to unbolt the radiator and slide the forward section up into the top of the nose

Lift the back of the radiator up over the front cross member and lift the radiator out through the hood.

Use a #5 Block splitter to render the radiator inoperable

Measure for a new Upright radiator and place order.

In 3-5 days - after you make up a couple of simple brackets - your cooling problems will have ceased

you have a nice upright radiator like this:

and you wont get a repeat of this...

seriously cooked

mmmmmm

Yep, most guys I know with RMC's have ditched the original radiator and done what LoBelly has.

I put in a lay forward 3 core commodore jobby and it clips to a couple of vertical uprights and sits in a pair of rubber "pin" mounts. To remove. Unclip and lift the radiator forward then slide it out over the crossmember. Easy .
