I seem to remember it being a company over in NZ? I'm getting plenty of Google results that might help you but none for NZ sites.

Hocking Race shop was making them, I think he is in a bit of trouble and has vanished.

I think the Mizzi missile has a DC&O manifold.

Cheers,

HI all
Yes it has been a while
I got stuffed around for 3 years by my engineer and totally lost interest
in the whole thing.
BUt late last year i got a new engineer and 3 months later car was on the road. I had about 8 weeks of driving before the rain came.
Over winter the motor was freshened up
So i now have the bug back and ready to clock up some km's .
On the LEWIS ENGINES web page it says my car has a microtech ecu but i am still waiting for it. Steve from JAZMAC is the only person i will trust to tune it and he hasnt got ls1 software thats why im changing. Plus then whenever i change stuff dont have to spend another grand on ls1 edit.

The manifold is a DC&O from sydney, LEWIS can get them just email him for cost for your engine.

check gallery for more pics

Regards
Paul

I wouldn't change the standard PCM to an aftermarket ECU, you will never get the same sort of drivability and in my opinion, you'll regret it. There are so many features in the standard PCM that aftermarket ECU's just can't match.

What have you done to the motor??? Depending how wild you have gone, I will make you a program for nothing....

HI Plums
The motor has had everything done to it
CNC ported heads, 625 lift cam with 110 lobe centres
Forged pisties H beams , Light flywheel and then theres the
cross ram 8 throttle manifold .
So you are saying if i send you my ecu you will remap it.
I can check with Darren Lewis for what timing etc he wants in it.
How can you get air/Fuel mix right without it being run on dyno

I assume it will need to go back and forwards a few times to get it right.
Regards
Paul

I'll need lots of details, diff ratio, preferred thermo fan temps, type of fuel etc. I'll have to get the full cam specs, (duration, advertised and at .050, lift and ICL), importantly, what size injectors (how many lb), compression ratio etc etc.

You send me your PCM with a return post bag and I'll do it for nothing. I'm not saying that it'll be perfect, but it should at least get it going which I assume it doesn't do now.

You could even buy the software yourself (under $1000) and I could help you fine tune the program I send you, (or I could help the workshop do it)...

Hi Plums
More than happy to buy the software if its that cost thought it would have
been more .Will cost over that to get after market setup
HOw does the computer hook up to the ecu though.

Paul

Even if you buy the pro version and get a Wideband O2 to go with it, it would be under $1500 (this would be the best set-up by far).... You will then be able to do everything you need to after I send you the initial program. The best thing is, that if you have the software, I can just e-mail you the tune changes after you send me the scan logs to work with.... It would most likely take a fair amount of time and lots of e-mailing over a few weeks, but it would be worth it in the end!!!

The software uses the OBDII port, (the diagnostic port under the dash in Holden vehicles) straight to the PCM.

Hi Plums
When my car was wired up the auto elec didnt do the obd11 plug. I assume i will be able to get one from a wrecker and wire it to the ecu ?
The other thing is it will obviously be maffless tune so will i ned to get other sensors to compinsate and i am also not using the original tps. will this be a problem for the standard ecu.

I really appreciate your imput as you where correct in saying it has not fired up yet and i have already missed some good driving days waiting for microtech.
Jazmac is a highly regarded tuner here in SA and a freind of mine so Dyno time is not a problem but he only has software for all the after market ecu's.
What is the software i will be purchasing and will it allow Jazmac to do more LS1 stuff or is it a one tune setup.
**** i wish i had posted this earlier i would be driving by now hey.I will talk to Lewis Engines today for more detailed engine specs but please understand he is a performance specialist and does not like to relase info just like you pro tuners dont like to tell either so i will post info with ecu and please discard it afterwoods.

Regards
Paul

Ledge, it certainly sounds and looks like a good engine package.
I will leave you in the more than capable hands of Plums regarding wiring in the OBDII connector, but if need be I have a copy of what goes where and I think almost all the LS engine guys in here do.

Plums, this is a great thing you are doing and I just want to thank you.
I think you will have quiet a few customers wanting to buy programing software in the near future.

Hi Boxhead
Just got of the phone with plums and he gracefully informed me that
you may have the ecm pinouts for me to wire up the OBD11 plug.
I Would much appreciate it if you could let me know.
Plums sounded very excited about my engine combo and i think it is in my best interest to buy the vcm software.

Regards
Paul

Hi Plums
Thanks for the phone call and info, I will forward the info you require asap.

Paul
