You may have been ready to pass Millington.
But you being 6 seconds a lap slower. I think you would struggle:LOL:

Keep dream'n Stiffy.

sambo 03-23-2009 10:16 PM

Don't worry Stiffy, I got footage of the electrical mishaps and the flapping bonnet. :)

stephen low 03-23-2009 10:42 PM

And how about that drive straight off the end of the main straight!

We could see where you were going Stuffy, what's your excuse?

Slowly

sambo 03-23-2009 11:38 PM

Slowy, that was the bonnet issue I mentioned. Massive top end from that awesome GM power plant were too much for the bonnet clips on the main straight so he bowed out gracefully. :D

stephen low 03-23-2009 11:56 PM

Yes I did see the bonnet pop just before Mr Stuffy ejected himself of the track.

I'm sure though not before thoughts of flag marshal dugouts ran amok........

I'm also positive any in car vision of Rohan's face would have been like the scene from the end of Mad Max with Max chasing Toe Cutter. The one with the close up of Toe Cutter's face through his helmut as he turns around to see that semi about to drive over him...............Oh Sh1t!

Pretty big statement coming from a guy that can't steer a Cobra through a roundabout. ;)
Cheers

yer yer yer fish slappers

Anyway if I can get Marty into action I'll be at the next event to improve my cornering skills too.

But I not affraid to say I do know I'll need to lock my handbag in the boot for my first try on a track. But it is all about giving it a go so I'll get there.....eventually.

As to roundabouts, I did get through the roundabout safely, it was just what was on the other side that was the problem - lol

stiffy 03-24-2009 06:22 PM

I'd have to admit Stiff, it probably took some big kahoonas to just stand harder on the brake pedal at that stage, despite that area being moderately open but without track vision and knowing the runway was just about depleted before that launch.

I was actually watching you when all this happened and did start waving a yellow flag, for what it was worth at the time.

As a sailor I've learnt to carry a lot of grey tape, just in case. I can lend you a heap to tape that bonnet back down if you like.

But then what is the real fix planned?

Stiffness, just a ratio swap for the diff or something altogether different?

stiffy 03-24-2009 09:37 PM

Ratio

SAMBO,

Ratio change from 3.9 to 3.5, I am sick of changing gears all the time.

The Cobra is fantastic with a 3.5 diff, fast and driveable....
