Great video Mike,

Lucky boy to own 2 originals..

I love all that historical info on these cars. Thats the only reason I got
Foxtel originally as they always had lots of programs on early racing etc.

Seems its just rubbish these days and I'm better spending the money at
book and video websites.

I agree that the Kirkham is a great car, I would love to own one, I just think it is wrong to call it a real Cobra.

If I was to put my Kobra on club plates in the NT, I could stamp the chassis number CSXwhatever,I,Want That does not make it a real Cobra.

Spookypt

The conditions on the day were very hot & dry and the track temps made the conditions very severe.

In Paul's case it I believe that the combination of his under-body exhaust and track conditions caused excessive heat in his tank creating fuel system problems. This lead to a poor running engine and fuel vapour that was not contained. His engine backfired and things went down hill from there.

I spoke to Paul at length on Wednesday and he is using the incident as catalyst for taking his car off the road and updating/redoing it - including a change of colour.

I'm sure that his car will re-emerge looking (and running) great.

Hmm interesting! Thanks for the insight! Glad the result wasn't a complete catastrophe!

boxhead,
Dont get the words Genuine or original confused.
Ive never refered to my cars as original or genuine. If something is 100% replicated of the original, of course its a real Cobra.
I also own a glass car, an Arntz for almost 25 years, i dont refer to it as a real cobra as its comprimised.
Im no bigger or better than any other Cobra owner, my original reference was that my car is as exactly as an original. A real Cobra!!
Keep smiling...

Someone with a motordrive camera took these pics was taken just as Phil turned the key.
