Default Cobra is gone, new toy is in...

My Cobra has gone to a more tropical climate, over in Queensland.... I got good dollar for it ($60k) and the money has already come in very handy.

I bought a rear engine dragster with trailer from Melbourne and picked up a low km VZ Exec for the missus, (also on the east coast). I flew over to Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and picked up the new family car then hooked up the new toy.

The picture below is the new toy and the new work car for the wife. The picture was taken at the start of a big straight on the Nullarbor.

I did have a minor problem about 50k's out of Ceduna. Luckily the previous owner gave me two spares for the trailer. Other than this blowout the trip was a breeze.

The dragster will be getting the engine that is currently in my VY Commodore. It's a head/cam LS1 that makes just under 310 kW's at the tyres, nothing too special really.
To replace the Commodore engine I have purchased an LS3, ($6490 inc.) to which the only real mod will be a "torque monster" cam with some bite. It will make around the same peak power as the LS1 but will smash it everywhere else and it should be able to light up the bags from very low rpm. As a bonus, the LS3 comes complete with flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, which is good for me because the stock clutch in the car now is shagged.

So the sale of the Cobra is a good thing for me. I get a new toy to play with, my daily driver gets a nice new motor, the wife gets a daily driver upgrade AND I get to put some money on the home loan... Happy days
