:)Do they still make those?

Gav 06-07-2009 08:39 PM

Good question, does anyone know?

There are still loads of them available for Cobra's though!

Spook,

I think the massive rollcage, huge rear wing, huge front spoiler, turbo charged double overhead cam toyota engine, auto trans, massive 18 inch tyres under hugely flared guards and flat matte black paint set it aside just slightly from the original...... Original to me would have to include.... 5.0 to 7.0 litre n/a v8 engine, carburetor, 15 or 16 inch wheels, single or double rollover hoop and paint with stripes...... I can see where they would be coming from, if you let it go then a classic event would end up having v8 supercars racing in it.. You're car is totally safer. faster and much better in many ways, just not in the catergory i would call classic... catergory would be more like 'BEAST".....

Yes Ash, I know what you're saying.. But check out the entrants list. A Mitsu Lancer EVO, HSV Monaro or Suzuki Mighty Boy are all hardly cLassics either!

looks great

I think the pale pink looks great. Pale pink with white stripes would look fantastic. Like the old candy box.

:LOL: Nuh Gav, He's building a meaner, leaner, revving machine using an aftermarket block ... If I remember correctly a Dart block.

Seems 7000 - 8000 RPM is the target.

I'm told there are a few track type GT40's which see the back end of this pink cobra fairly often.

Mrs Flatchat, I sent in my application but it was returned as it was felt that I was not a true replica of what I should have been!

So I joined QRDA without any problems!:D

Is this what you had in mind Cameron02? There is white stripes in there somewhere, I think.

Merv and Sharon 02-24-2010 04:01 PM

Now that's a car that would take a really strong sense of personal identity to drive!

cameron02 02-25-2010 01:45 AM

Yeah its cool but thats not what I meant by candy box.

Apologies Cameron02, I thought she could go through as Candy...

But back to the subject line "Pink Cobra". I went looking at another possible project car yesterday. The "lady" for whom it initially was supposed to be built (a former Miss Universe bodybuilding contestant with bulging bicep muscles the size of my thighs), has got this thing for Elvis and his Pink Cadillac and therefore the reason for choice of color .:o
While speaking to her about why they decided to can the build, the workshop suddenly went dark as her husband entered the door. Boy, I didn't know humans could get so big. Let's just say, there is no way that that man will ever fit into any Cobra I know of.
I thought it appropriate not to mention my opinion concerning pink being a "girly" color and not befitting to a "muscle car" like a Cobra. I decided not to take over the project, but the reason wasn't the color.:p
