Nationals 2009
HI
The nationals are getting fairly close now and preparations are almost complete. The official entry form and Supplementary regs will be available in the next few days. The Nationals are on from Friday the 2nd of October to Sunday the 4th October 2009 at Wakefield Park in Goulbourn NSW. The event has a few changes that are detailed in the entry Form and associate info. However Below is a brief overview of the changes. 1. There are 2 Tiers to the competition. a. Racer package $320.00 per entrant: You enter as normal and have the Friday Practice, hill climb, go to whoa and Drags on Saturday with the sprints on Sunday. The "racer will also be included in the show and shine competition. B. Show & Shine and Cruise Package $220.00 per Entrant: This is new to the event, or some may say a throw back to the West Wyalong Days. The events are a full day show and shine display at the track on Saturday and then a competition type cruise on the Sunday. The cruise also includes a fully catered Lunch at the rendezvous point. As usual all meals will be provided for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. 2. All Safety checking and show Judging will occur on the Friday only, no exceptions. This allows the Racer to have their car show judged before they hit the track allowing the cars to be presented at their best. 3. The Saturday will see a full day of cars on display with Trade Stands set up comprising of most of the Kit builders on display, with a couple of components suppliers set up as well. This will be the day any prospective builder will get the chance to see many of the kits on offer in one place. This will take Place at the Track along with the on Track events. 4. Most Entrants will be staying at Trappers, NSWCCC have several rooms booked so if you would like to stay there just let them know you are for the nationals and they will give you our special Rate. I hope I get to see you there. Phil |

Entry forms and Regs.
HI everyone,
We have finalized the entry forms and supplementary regulations. http://www.cobracarclubnsw.org.au/us...%20Package.pdf http://www.cobracarclubnsw.org.au/us...%20Package.pdf http://www.cobracarclubnsw.org.au/us...ons%2014-7.pdf You will notice there are two entry forms: The Race Package and the Cruise Package. You are only permitted to enter one of the packages per entrant. However due to popular demand there is an option for the Race package entrant to forfeit the Sunday sprints and join the cruise on the Sunday. This is at an extra charge of $20.00 per person to cover lunch. Please ensure that you go thru the regulations as there are some changes that will need to be considered to by all entrants. Skills Test
The skills test that will be used as part of the cruise competition. The skills test is a simple driver test that will take a few seconds.

Tires
As most of you will see we have posted the new suplimentary regs for the nationals and we have refined the tire specifications.
To clarrify that any Hoosier brand tire is not a street legal tire, it may have a DOT rating but also has "For Competition use only" molded on the tire. It is wrong that merchants sell these as street legal tires. There is also this warning taken from the Hoosier site. WARNING NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE: All Hoosier Racing Tires including DOT labeled Hoosier Racing Tires are designed for racing purposes only on specified racing surfaces and are not to be operated on public roadways. DOT labeled Hoosier Racing Tires meet Department Of Transportation requirements for marking and performance only and are NOT INTENDED FOR HIGHWAY USE. It is unsafe to operate any Hoosier Racing Tire including DOT tires on public roads. The prohibited use of Hoosier Racing Tires on public roadways may result in loss of traction, unexpected loss of vehicle control, or sudden loss of tire pressure, resulting in a vehicle crash and possible injury or death. The use of these tires will see you classed as open class. Phil |
Oh Boy.
I am getting excited my one and only holiday i get each year looking forward to seeing you all again and just enjoying my self.
I should really do something to the cobra i guess some tyres with grip would be a good place to start. maybe some more horse power could help. Any way counting down the days.:3DSMILE: oz. |

Engine out with conrods still poking out of the sump.... I'll have to get my backside into gear if I'm going to have a car ready for the Nats. That sweet looking LS7 just sitting there under the dust cover waiting for the other car to be built keeps calling out for someone to use it !! Maybe I could sort of run it in while Warwick is building the other car ??!! Just Joking.....or am I ?? |
5. Cobra - Driven by Females. All capacities/ configurations.
6. Cobra - Open . Slick Race tyres O.K. Engine unlimited. Male/Female 7. G.T 40, Daytona Coupe, SC540 Male/Female Hmmm. decisions decisions ---on point 5, does that mean that "Hoosiers R6" can be used ??? --Its just that not many "decent" tyres fit 15" wheels these days--- pleeeese:) |

Bloody Tires.
HI Mrs Flatchat,
Hmmm. decisions decisions ---on point 5, does that mean that "Hoosiers R6" can be used ??? I think the regs are quite clear that the use of "Competition only" tires in all classes will put you in open class. This will be the case if run the hoosier R6 as they are marked "For Competition use only". There are tires available in 15inch like the Avon CR6ZZ Range. http://www.stuckey.com.au/tyres_deta...TyreName=CR6ZZ These tires are available in Australia. Looking forward to your response. Phil |
