VZ Ls2 Engine loom white plug
 

Can Any one tell me what this plug dose or more importantly what the wires do?
Its on a VZ Ls2 engine wire loom,It has a rubber bung on it, so would have gone into the cabin of the commodore I would assume.

That plug has powers and canbus wires for the diagnostic plug etc....

I know you do that stuff, but when are you going to come across and fiinish the wiring job on my car? I would really love to take it to the Nats and be able to use to manual side of my box. Wally - that one plugs into the body look I think. I you have a wiring diagram you should be able to figure it out from the wire colours. Did I send you my L76 info - its possible the "white plug" info is the same. Its in the excel file.

well my wife just had a baby boy a week ago
and this week she had to get her cataracts done in one eye and next week she gets the other eye done
so ive been baby sitting abit lately

anyway we need to sort out yr shifter
by the time its done at trimmers my house will be in order
so get neil to ring me once its back there
sorry but its been a busy 2 weeks and nothing went straight forward at the hospital

anyway all we need is a day once u get it back so should get it done way before the nats


hey wally did u get the blue plug

well u need about 20 wires from the blue plug to goto relays and dash and pedal and this and that if u know how to use a multimeter just prob those wires and see where they go u really should strip the harness first and see what yr in for

u can even plug the loom into the engine and once u trace the wires then u can see what the plug does

its not hard just might take u afew days
its the best way to learn because when the ****ttttt doesnt go people just scream on the forums hey i just wired up my car and it wont go and they have no idea how to diagnose stuff so basically sit down and learn how it all works

had pretty bad service at the hospital
one prob turned into another and another
eventually all came home afew days later than expected
now trying to get used to a new born and a 14 month old together hehehe

but all is good now except for lack of sleep
so if anyone sees me my eyes always look funny but these last few weeks they are even worse hehehe

i dont mind contributing

just when it comes to my every day bread and butter work i dont give info out
or do i sell parts seperate as i like to sell my looms as a full kit tested properly by me
and then its very simple work for custoemr to fit
if i sold things seperately i garantee i would spend 2 or 3 hours each day on the phone
helping the other person
now if they buy a full kit i will do that
but when they buy an 80 dollar plug where u make 20 bucks how do u think i would feel
wasting that time on the phone

plus another thing is we are getting more problems with wiring looms made buy this place in melbourne that most know about and are fixing their stuffups

is the place lsx conversions
he is our competition he sells the bits so u can put it together
but i also specialise in jap import engines and wiring up std ecus
most people put them in the too hard basket and just put an aftermarket ecu on them heheheh

just beware the kits premade from usa are left hand drive
we have had afew complaint bout them also

anyway we have done our research
so if u read or hear bout someone wiring up one of these ls2 etc and they have probs with thermo fans coming on all the time and the speedo not working
or tacho problems or the auto not working correctly then its becasue most guys know how to tune factory commodores but when it comes to doing a tune to suit something thats not a comm then they dont knwo the tricks

end of the day we customize our looms to suit each car even though we start from a similar base harness for most lsx looms

Yeah I spoke to Ian at LSX conversions and he was pretty helpful. The other one in the US I think is Current Performance? Their engine loom kit and relay circuits look pretty good value but I know we have a few different connectors on our engines. Left hand drive never occurred to me.

Jared at current performance is really good, made my O2 extenders for us$10 each no one else was even close to that price. Also got me a lot of pins for the delhi connectors that no one else seemed to be able to find.
You cant beat the GM install kits, comes with everything including ECU for$830us. Wish they made them when I bought all my gear!!

Alffie, do you have a link these "GM install kits"? At first I thought you were talking about current performance but their kit is $1295 USD and it doesn't include the wires to the transmission.

those kits alffie talking bout are from place called scog and dickies or somehting like that
or from gm motorsport in usa
they are a loom and ecu 2 oxygen sensors a pedal fusebox and relays

here is a sample but its in pounds so i guess its in uk
but look at the ecu its an e67 i dont know nayone hwo has progrmamed one of these in australia we have an e67 ecu one day we will try to play with it

ring eagle as they also have the same gm motorsport kits but they are imported from usa but are left hand drive and they dont do auto looms

i got a contact in usa that asked me to make looms to send over cause there is such a waiting period guys were willing to get them from us
but even here its getting hard to find ls1 looms as holden dont make them anymore
so u need to find them at wreckers

another thing to remember is they use a different pedal to the aussie cars so if it stuffs up which is very rare
u need to get one from usa


anyway over here we cant compete with the prices from the usa
they even make the harness from scratch so they must have some asians working for 10 bucks a day hehehe as when u look at price of parts then u look at labour they must take afew hours to make them

Here are the P/N of the kits, just google the P/N and you will find a heap of GMPP dealers that sell the kits. Craig at RCR uses them and hasnt had any problems yet.
