Hi Dave,

I noticed that a there was a record sale for an American Car set at the recent Mecum Monterey auction - US$7.25M for CSX 2601.

See attached - http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...D=CA0809-82174

Looks a lot like yours!

Kind regards....Paul

Those Mecum auctions are great TV! They seem to pup up at least twice week on free-to-air TV. Lovely cars these Daytonas.

albanycobra 08-16-2009 05:25 AM

Hi Paul....That is mine but you can have it for 2 million.... Just have a few beers before you pick it up....

When we going for another cruise?? I have been running out at Chittering.
Went out this afternoon and clocked up another 120km's. Got about 1380k's
on the coupe now. I spotted a silver Cobra with orange stripes.

I guess my main project is Ultratune but when/if the Coupe goes I think
I'll look at GT40s again. I miss my old one and only let it go due to health
concerns which I have since learn't exercises to manage the pain.

I am really enjoying going out every weekend in the Coupe and looking forward to summer to test the A/C. You keen for a run this Sunday?
Anyone else keen for a cruise??

Shed run?

Hi Dave, I'm happy to host a shed run coffee/chin wag at my place on Sunday morning...As a suggestion, how would 9.30am at my place work?

Any CC forum members in Perth this weekend are most welcome...just send me a PM to let me know that you'd like to come and I can give you address details...I live in the Kalamunda/Lesmurdie region in the Perth Hills.

Regards.....Paul

Sounds like a plan to me,
See you on Sunday :-)

Question...You're selling the Daytona to build 'another'! GT40. Is the GT40 more recognisable than the Daytona. ie do you get more "what isits" with the Daytona and everyone just knows what a GT40 is ? Is that the reason ? ;)

Trev 08-17-2009 07:56 PM

Doin my best to be there

Merv,

I've booked a "club visit" to Bowdens on December 13th....
If the 40 hasn't sold by then we get to have another gander at it.

Cheers,
Warren.

No it's not a recognition thing as i don't like the attention they bring. I do like the car.
Peter Brock did a lot for the Daytona recognition wise. I get "Is that the same as Brockies car Mate"

Wonderful Warren! Should be a great day and closer to home! One of his 2 Cobras:
