Hi Grover3, My first cobra was an LA Exotics which I purchased used. I had to restore it and was in a similar situation. I contacted Barry at Fiberglass 34 Coupes and Cobras by McGill Manufacturing.

Barry was one of the original owners of LA Exotics. He helped me out with part numbers and was a great point of resource. When I was looking for a second cobra I purchased a B&B cobra because I wanted to do the work myself and had Barry to assist with parts etc.

Barry is wonderful to work with and could possibly provide you with any information you might need to complete your build. His phone number 417-472-7848. You can tell him Lee in Salt Lake Utah referred you.

Hello Grover3 Happy New Years eve!

B&B is no longer in business. Barry and Bryan were the original owners of B&B. Barry split off from B&B and started his own gig. Bryan stayed on running B&B for a while and then sold it.

The new owners weren't able to keep B&B running. Barry is still doing well and has been building the same cobras since leaving B&B. Barry was the original frame welder/designer back during the LA Exotics and has kept his cobras the same. So all of his parts will fit La Exotics and B&B perfectly.

I've purchased side pipes and a custom aluminum radiator through Barry for my first cobra (La Exotics) in 2012. My La Exotics was built in 1993 and when the parts arrived they bolted in place no issues.

I have worked on a couple of B&Bs and Barry has helped me.
For one I bought a hardtop from him.

He is the go to man for B&Bs.

What rear end is under you car?

I had a lot of trouble with the emergence brake adjustment. I had to make a part to get it to work.

Great car. The best driving, handling, riding Cobra I have ever driven, including my own.

Dwight

Dwight,

It has a narrowed 9" with 3.25:1 Posi, The brakes are wilwood 4 piston.

I have purchased new IRS tubular front suspension parts and am basically copying the latest Hurricane design. The rear is getting adjustable coil overs with adjustable tubular upper and lower control arms. I have a 69 351W block to build a light stroked 408ci and I have a Super-Duty T-5 M-7003-Z for it.

I'd like billboard tires and seen a backdraft with 17"s and stick-on "GOODYEAR" that I might copy, this gives me the modern look and performance. I really like the old school 15" look but with all the mountain roads in my area would probably be disappointing with the cornering performance of the old school tires.

Hi Grover3. I have a 1989 LA Exotics that's had quite a few track type upgrades. I'm also running a narrowed 9" with 3.25 gears. I run 15" rims with Hoosier TDs for running open track events. Running 500+ HP and Hoosiers tends to put higher loads on parts than normal driving. I have a couple of items (amongst many) that you may be able to help me with:

1) How did you put coilovers on the rear suspension? I have the spring between the lower control arm and the frame, which is too short for coilovers. The shock is attached to a 1"x2" crossmember that wouldn't be able to support spring level loads. I'm also running spherical bearing lower and upper control arms.

2) I'd like to replace the rubber bushing front strut rods with spherical bearing rods. The problem is that I can not find them for Mustang II suspensions. I can custom make them, but prefer to get something already designed and fabbed for the loads.

Thanks..... John
