Default Mounting Body

I will be getting my body shortly. Could someone please post how many and what type of fastners they used and rough positioning. I can't wait!!! Stewart transport estimates that they will be picking up my body around the 11th. That puts it to me the 12th or 13th!!!. I think there are going to be some other sweet cars on his truck.

How did you get a B&B without a body?

Default Pics...

I will TRY to attach some photos for you to look at. B&B just used selftapping screws to hold my body to the frame. In the back they used the bolts that hold the gas tank straps also. My "instructions" say in the finaly assembly to fiberglass the body to the frame and inner panels.

Actually, the inner panels were mounted for me when I got it. It is the body mounts that I need.

Is that an aluminum fuel tank enclosure I see? Pretty nice.

Hope that these help. I am working on a web page to detail my build but I am spending too much time on the car and not the page. I just picked up my polished SS expansion tank from Southern Automotive but no Pic yet....

The stainless looks great. When I was @ B&B back in september picking up my car, Daryl was showing me some prototypes they are working on for stainless or aluminum panels/firewalls.

It would be a great option to have aluminum inner pannels/firewalls,tunnels as an option from B&B...(hint hint), but I'll live with the fiberglass...for now

here are the front mounts...
I have also did my inner (engine side) front inner panels in SS. The tire sides will be Rhino lined as well as the interior and trunk before carpet. Not too bad for a first time sheet metal project...
thanks, Chris

I basically used the sheet metal screws and bolts just like the other guys. But, I also layed down bead of silicone adhesive before I screwed the body/panels down.

Ok, the body was delivered last night. I have a couple, well, many questions. B&B is closed today, so hopefully, some of you will have some insight. Slow Dawg, you out there???

1) What is the best way to ensure that the body is centered front to back and side to side?

2) What holds the butt up? The sides attach with sheet metal screws and fender washers, the front mounts with the hinge and body support, but what holds the but up in the air? Is it just a combination of the rear quick jacks, the glassed in trunk, etc?

3) Where/how do the rear quick jack brackets mount? Pictures please!

4) How do I establish the nose height?

5) When measuring for the roll bar, should the body be perfectly level? Should it be at the cant forward like it will be on the road?

6) How much body work did you really need to do on these things? The seems seem non-existant, but they are there.

Any other suggestions?

Tom
