Fitting B&B doors to body.

My first post on the B&B board. There has been such a great response to the question about cutting B&B pipe slots that I thought I would seek help with my project.

My passenger side door has some problems. I have mounted it in place and begun to trim around the outside edge. I am trimming very slowly so that I won't make any mistakes.

Here's the problem. The front half of the door seems to match the body profile pretty well, however, about half way back along the bottom edge it seems to dip in toward the cockpit for 12" to 18". I haven't measured it, but by eye it looks to be about 1/8" deep or maybe more. I'm thinking that building this much surface area up by this depth with bondo is asking for trouble long term.

On the top rear of the door where it mates with the top of the rear fender, there are similar problems. Across the roughly 4 horizontal inches, the door is about 1/8" too high outboard for 2", and then drops down to about 1/4" too low inboard. There's no way I'm going to bondo 1/4" on such an exposed corner.

Keeping in mind that the fit may change as I trim the door edges and re-align the door, my current plan is to re-glass both areas, then bondo and primer.

Any input would be appreciated, including recommendations about how much I should be trimming off of the door edge.
