Hey Dwight, me too please. Do you know if they can be chromed plated, or will the sliding of the mechanism just scratch it off ?

pmfranke 12-07-2006 10:12 AM

no pics recieved,yet.

I have the same rods as FL (came with my kit) but am thinking of replacing them with the piston type. I have seen these on some other Cobra's and they look like they would work better. Does anyone have a part number suggestion for this type?? Thanks, Earl

You did not say what you wanted with the prop rod pics. But here is a few that we have in our Cobras. In the last pic you will see Coach used both types of rods. We mount the rods with self tapping screws and sometime bolts thru the bottom of the trunk. Be careful about drilling thru the trunk deck. I hope this helps.

I reduced the length a small amount.

pmfranke 12-13-2006 11:04 AM

thanks rick and dwight. a picture always helps me . on the trunk lid did you just tap into the fiberglass ridge ? was there metal in there?

Rick Parker 12-13-2006 11:16 AM

I made a formed metal plate from aluminum and used structural adhesive to attach it to the underside of the fiberglass.
