Default Kit supplied seats

I am wondering what everyone else is doing concerning the seats supplied by B & B. Mine are as hard as a rock. They have 1 1/2" of soft foam and that's it. I tried adding 2" more but they look like a ball and aren't much better!
Also they tilt down in the front.
Is everyone just trashing these and buying someone elses or what?
If you are, what is everyone getting?

My car isn't really on the road yet but I had read that seats should have about a 7 degree angle for comfort. I used square tubing under the front of the seat to adjust the angle. I have not been able to spend hours in the saddle but the time I have been in the seats working on the car, it has been fairly comfortable.

I tried tilting mine back but then the back is way to layed down. The front part I blocked up about 2" and it helps but after about 15 minutes, it feels like I'm sitting on a board.
I can ignore it but my wife is beginning to refuse to go with me on my Cobra runs!

I got rid of mine in favor of aluminium race seats but I can tell you the standard seats are much more comfy that my seats.

When I did use the standard seats I put a 1" piece of box tubing under my front edge of my seats and that made them a lot more comfortable.

I also have a B & B and have to agree, the stock seats are hard & uncomfortable. I too added more bottom foam, still ain't right! Have been looking at replacing the seats but am having a difficult time finding something that will fit. I've seen other makes of Cobras with some pretty nice looking hi-back seats but don't know what they were. Just saw a nice looking seat ad in a JEGS catalog that listed the dimensions, but doesn't look like they will fit in my car. Dynamic Auto Design has some very nice looking seats at reasonable prices, but no listed dimensions, so e-mailed them just today asking for the sizes. I'd also be very interested in knowing what seats will fit these cars. With 7300 miles in the last nine months, these stock seats have got to go!!

My original seats were pretty miserable so I went to an upholstery fabric shop and got some 2" foam that they said they sold to all the shops making boat and hot rod seats. What a difference! The foam was very dense but has enough give to keep my butt bones well away from the seat base. It was very easy to change and very well worth the maybe $50 it cost.

Simple fix - Remove the seat cover. Take a long knife and cut out the foam at the rear of the seat into a bowl shape. Sit in it without the cover for a check. Keep removing foam until compfortable. I removed the foam at the rear center to 1/4" left. It lowers your seating position, which I found to my benefit, and the seats are now very comfortable.

Put the gell pad from your motorcycle on the seat. This does work great. It will raise you about 1 inch in the seat.

I am having the same problem. I would like to know what replacement seats everyone has tried. I think High back seats don’t look right in a cobra but I’m will willing to sacrifice the look so my wife does not get uncomfortable after 2 hours on the road. Lets see some seat pictures.

A fellow club member installed early Acura Integra Seats into his Back Draft and they look great and are very comfortable . He had them recovered in leather. Now my wife wants me to do the same !!!!

I replaced my seats for both comfort and safety. I bought 2002 cobra seats, had the frame slimmed down 3 inches down the middle. They fit and feel good.

Can you ask your fellow club member to post some pictures?
