BDR Heater Options
I want a heater. Don't try and talk me out of it.
What is the perfect fit heater to install in a BDR? |
The BDR one. Get ahold of Reg, he may be able to set you up.

Backdraft offers a specific fit Heater option. It's not too hard to install. Since your in Florida, I would suggest calling Reg at the Headquarters and getting one ordered. Easy hook up and all you need to do is plumb it into your water pump and outlet of the water neck.

The heated seat option is nice as well for the cool night drives.
Depending on your other accessories you may want to increase your alternator sizing a well with these loads. |
I agree the heater is soooo nice, espcially in areas where there is year around cobra driving!!
|
I just did a 20 minute test drive (check the thermometer) and I had to turn the seat heaters down.

PICTURES Pls. :)
Would very much like to see pictures - seen from the seats. Thanks |
Seat heaters? Seat heaters?
Jesu Christo, I have a "factory" heater in #139, it blows hot air on the passenger's knees, LOL!!! I hate the 21st Century. |
I never had anything against heaters, but thought they were superfluous and/or to pass in states requiring a defroster.
Having driven 707 mostly in cool to cold weather, I'd say they're a requirement, ESPECIALLY in the mild climates where we can drive year-round. I can understand someone in the snow states not needing one, since they tend to drive only in warm months. But if we CAN drive in January or November or a chilly April, we do - and the heater makes all the difference in the world. |

BTW - I regularly head out to breakfast when the temps are in the high 30's and low 40's. I also decided to go with a 12v heated seat cushion as well. Works like a charm. :) http://www.amazon.com/Wagan-12V-Heat...6183914&sr=8-1 |

I dunno what BDR provides, but the ERA heater has three manual flaps - one driver, one passenger, one rear/middle. I think you have to close all three to get defrost volume, but it's nice to be able to adjust the airflow.

My heater has ducts to both driver and passenger footwells...
|
My Backdraft heater is ducted to both sides with a flex tube. Everything is hidden. 3 speeds, no temp adjustment. Works great in CA with no top. Not sure about where it get realllllly cold.

Can one of you guys with the factory heater installed get a pic for me? I talked to reg today and got a drawing of their heater and I'm not seein' how it's going to fit.
Thanks a pile |

I suggest a vinyl top, RAF hat, a leather jacket, gloves...or wear a three layer nomex when you drive. :3DSMILE:

Jay,
What brand of seat heater have you had good success with? Have been looking at them but there are so many versions out on the market. Thanks |
