Default How wide can you go?

Hi guys

Just wondering what the widest tires you guys run on the standard 17" wheels that come on the new backdrafts. I think the stock car comes with 255/45/17 fronts and 315/35/17 rears. The 315's look bada$$, and I think I've seen pics of guys running 275's & 335's front and rears respectively. Obviously wouldn't want the tires sticking out beyond the fenders or rubbing on the chassis, but just wondering what folks a running

Thx
Art

I have#354 with the stock 17's. There is no way I could run a 335 on the rear with the factory 17's. It would kiss the outer fender (I run the car pretty low in ride height).
But, I also have 17x11 American Racing 427 wheels with 6.5 backspacing in the rear with 335's and they clear no problem on the inside and outside. There is room for wider than 315's but you have to work with the backspacing. At least on my older build....

I think stock was 17x10.5 with 5.75 back spacing. Not sure if the new cars are the same.

I had Michelin 335's on BDR#1061 with no issues except they spun through 3rd gear, went with Nitto NT01 315's due to the fact that they didn't make them any bigger...which, while a tad narrower are far superior and stick well unlike the pilot sports which the car came with. No prob at all with the 335's as far as width however.
