Default Finally running!!!

Well, I've been super busy so unfortunately it's taken 2 months to get my cobra running again! Finally got everything taken care of and for the moment she runs. I would NOT recommend installing a keyless ignition on your cobra... Very cool, but ultimately a pain in the arse! So, it's just a bandaid on a much bigger problem, but she's running and running strong! Fingers crossed, I'll be at the next NorCal gtg.

Congrats!

What kind of problems did you run into with the keyless ignition?

The main issue we found is that the batteries get swallowed up because the system is always "looking" for the transponder. There was a turn off on the fob that if you left it on it would basically kill it in 2 days or so. And this was using one of the better looking and more expensive systems.

We need driving videos...

The battery dying was, unfortunately, one of my least concerns. The biggest problem was the wiring. Spade/ butt connectors don't last and have no place on a sports car worth it's salt. What ultimately did it was a faulty connection that shorted the computer that controls this whole mess.

Did you guys use the big Dawg keyless ignition system? I've had great success with this one.

Not in this case. We have used that one as well. This system was a more advanced unit that proved to be a bigger headache.

What else did you need to do with the keyless system. Was there an alarm?

It was alarmed but the trick to this system is you just got in and hit the start button. The Digital Dog system (of which we are a distributor) requires you press the fob then the start.

It was a good idea in theory... just not in action.

Jay, I lost your email... Shoot it over to me if you have a chance.

The keyless ignition was really cool, when it worked.... I'll give it that!
