Bacdrafts on the track

Several members of the Houston Cobra Club visited Texas World Speedways performance driving event this past weekend. The weather was good on Saturday and perfect on Sunday (50* and low humidity). Here are a couple of videos.

Lucky you!
What is the length of the course? It seemed long.

Pep boys have them. They are made by K source, part #RM010. It clips on to your existing mirror and really helps you see the blind spots on your rear quarters.

Thanks for sharing!:D

Bill, thanks for sharing the video links! We had a great time. I look forward to the next one. For those of you that asked, it is a very fast track. It is 2.9 miles with 15 turns. The driving school there is great to work with.

Good times...

James

AWESOME!!!:D

Driving a Cobra on a track. What a crazy idea.

Keep posting!

Thanks MT, I'm sure the snap on mirror is a great improvement over the standard issue model. It will sure help the old neck not from not having to constantly turn around. I had been looking for a night darkening mirror (I do a fair amount of night driving) that looked close to the original but haven been successful in finding one yet.

Night Driving

If you drive at night do yourself a favor, get H.I.D. headlights. One of the best upgrades you'll ever do.

Great video, what type of camera and mount. Thanks, Rick

FredBMOC 12-17-2010 06:31 PM

That is some very nice driving!
Congrats!

Camera and mount

Camera is a Canon ZR 900, external mic is the key. Run the mic down behind the passenger seat/door panel area. Picks up the sound without the wind. Mount is from Ioport racing.

Great vid, love the part where you follow the coupe. Was the camera mount the same for both cars?

Jimeg 12-19-2010 02:43 PM

Brent, Thanks on the H.I.D. headlights. They we're on my list.

Bailey 12-20-2010 05:38 AM

Nice driving guys, thanks for posting. Looks like there are definitely some rough spots to avoid.
I'm down for a while, jonesing to get back out there.

Jimeg 12-31-2010 12:17 PM

Brent, I've been looking at the various H.I.D. bulbs out there. From your experience any suggestions as to where to buy?

6t8stang 12-31-2010 12:35 PM

These are the ones I just put in my dad's cobra: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=270622692131. They're almost identical to what I put in mine about 3 years ago and love them. You'll want to make sure the ones you get are both high & low beam HID. I opted for the 6000k

Jimeg 12-31-2010 12:41 PM

Thanks Eric, same place I've been looking.

Jimeg 12-31-2010 12:52 PM

Eric, By the way, can the cars electrical system handle JUST the bulbs or is the whole kit necessary?
