Pulled the Trigger on BDR# 983

I'm pumped, After watching you guys talk about BDRs for close to 3 years I have finally pulled the trigger on BDR# 983. I looked at several different brands of Cobras, both new and used, and really liked the lower wider style of the BDR. I also liked the interior and stainless engine bay, very nicely done.

I also have to say the dealer experience with Jay at Vintage has been awesome. I talked to him a couple of years ago and then in recent months when I was looking for used. He actually gave me some leads on used BDRs that would have not benefited him at all if I had purchased them, but he did it to help out. In the end I am just to picky, and set on what I wanted, to find one used that fit the bill. He has also spent a lot of time answering my stupid questions, but he really wants you to get a car you are happy with. I can't wait for it to arrive and love the color that Jay suggested, Spectra Blue.

I also have to thank the Texas Cobra club also. I was down there on business and they picked me up at the hotel with 15 different cobras to go on a cruise. It was an awesome experience and they had a ton of knowledge and advise on purchasing a cobra. Great bunch of guys that I can't thank enough for their hospitality.

Well, I am going to go visit the Vintage Motor Sales website and look at the pictures of my BDR again for the 3rd time today. I look forward to getting to know more Cobra people and thanks for all of the help during the process of finding mine. Scott

I feel guilty now that I did not snap some more pics today... tied up with our showroom upgrades. But I think the gas is ready to go in now.

You got questions, we've got answers ;)

Scott,

What are the engine and trans of choice going in the beast?

Where are you located?

I went with a W351 stroked to 392 430hp/450T and T5 trans. I need to update my profile but I am located in Antioch, IL. Not far from you.

Jimbo,
Thanks for taking the time to show me your car and helping me with some upgrade ideas. I have met a lot of great people already and everyone has been more than willing to help out when I had questions. Thanks again. Scott

Congratulations

I bought BDR #953 in October. I chose BDR for the same reasons that you did and could not be more pleased.

Whiplash 01-09-2011 07:23 PM

Yep-Can't go wrong with Jay and Brian. You'll get a great car that's dialed in. I bent Jay's ear for months before finally getting my car. I have had almost zero issues over the last 6000 miles. Can't say enough nice things about their outfit.

Welcome to the fun. Get ready for the rock star treatment. Someone posted something recently about these cars being as invisible as a burning Hindenburg. Truer words have never been spoken.

Congrats!!! I just bought #982 from Jay. Cant wait to take delivery in a few months. Take care!
