Wink New Cobra Owner (Backdraft #1134)

Just had my Backdraft cobra delivered late last week (#1134)

Thanks Jay and Brian from Revolocity Motor Sales and Vintage Motorsports respectively for making it all happen seamlesly!

A few particulars:

5.0L Coyote Aluminator NA
Solid motor mounts
Ceramic coated headers
Tremek TKO 600
Speck stage 3+ clutch
391 LS in the rear
Upgraded aluminum radiator and fan shroud
Dual roll bars (my wife took one look and said "Where's mine?")
Heates seats
Tonneau cover
Mota-Lita wood wheel
Dual ray-dots
Aluminum gas tank w/tank mounted fuel pump (1000HP capable)
Rear 3M Paint Protection (will add tops of doors soon)
Upgraded start push button
18" rims/tires
Aux power plug added
probably forgetting something else but this is enough for now

Jay and Brian set this build up to accept a supercharger at a later date. The discussion between my wife and I went "You want to go 0 to jail how fast?", but perfectly OK with setting it up for a future install!

The Coyote is a very clean install (see photo). It is a tight fit width wise, but Brian and Jay have the install down to a science. The orange covers were Jay's idea (and a damn good one as it pulls it al together and looks awesome).

With the fist 175 miles under my belt, I am impressed with both the Coyote's performance and drivability (the 391's are a great fit for overall driving and performance with this set up) The stage 3+ clutch took a little getting used to, but after the first 30 miles or so I got the hang of it (I will say I like the heavier feel of this clutch through the Hydraulics actuators).

So how did I end up going for my frist cobra? I was looking at new Shelby GT500 converibles (my wife was on board) and then she said "now is this what you really want?". This got me thinking hard and somewhere in the back of my mind I had dismissed ever owning a cobra (even though I have wanted one since I was 15 years old). So I came to my senses and this is where I ended up. Is it totally impractical? YOU BET! Just as a midlife crisis was meant to be!

What was important to me was drivability as I intend to put miles on this car! the newer technology of the Coyote was a good fit for what I was looking for. While I like the look, I am not a stickler for all the original correct details (which I know will shock many on this site as I can see by the treads that many are purists), just looking to have some fun with it!
