LSD will this fit?
BMW E36 3-Series 3.91 LSD Limited Slip Differential 1992-1999 325i 328i USED OEM
Should I just get a new or even upgraded LSD for a 900 mile car?

I have a LSD .391 in mine and you always have to be ready to shift. If you don't have an overdrive high gear it may not be what you want. My RPM is 2800 at 78, with an 063 5th gear. Be sure to put the BMW special fluid (forgot what it is called) in it. That stuff really works.

This is a pretty cool site if you know all the gear ratios in your trans and rear axle. You can just fill in the 5th or 6th ratio column and it will spit out your final speed/RPM.

I have the 373 LSD in mine, but my 1st gear in the TKO-600 is a 2.87 so I don't feel like I have to shift real soon. If I had a regular T5 with a 3.35 1st, the 373's would not be very fun.

I have a 391 LSD with an A-5 ( beefed up T5). I do have to shift quick. So much so I installed a shift light. The 3.35 1st gear pulls like a tractor. Ha!

Thanks to all of you. I am leaning toward a 3:73. I have a TKO and a 62 mph (70 on speedo) it is turning 1650 rpm or so with 3.46 open differential.
Am I more likely to swap ends with a LSD? A coffee shop " expert " tells this story on short wheelbase cars with plenty of power. This car is driven by 60 year old adults.

An open centred diff loses traction on the right rear in a straight line, but the left rear will still roll, hence no sideways action.
An LSD will spin both wheels if you have enough power. Once you get used to turning left under power, you'll never look back.
In fact, there's no point looking in your mirror for who's losing.

Just had Reg put in LSD 3.91...60 @ 2000 rpm. T-5...

Can a regular GM trained mechanic do this? He is honest and just has not seen underneath my car. It can not be much different than any other RWD differential.
I have a a TKO and open 3.46 ratio.
