Only place I would recommend is Diffsonline. We tried several other builders and they never could come close or have any consistency.

Diffsonline or if you have some local racers that race E36's you can get the guy they use to build theirs to build yours. I have a 60% locked 3.46 diff in my car that handles more abuse than I would guess any other BDR out there...

My friend is trying to talk me in to going with the Quaife, and although he is probably right, I have to admit that is some serious sticker shock. I was looking at doing a 60% lock, and might still go that route.

I am surprised they let you run the track without arm restraints in an open cockpit.

I am pretty hard on the car even though the above events aren't road racing.

I wasn't trying to imply no one else abuses their car.. I was talking stresses to the diff. I put a lot of load on one wheel forcing one side of the diff to bare almost all the load...
Check out BimmerDiffs, this is where I got my parts to build up the diff.
I looked at OS Giken and Quaife... I then talked to a lot of E36 racers and they all said... Just go with a 60%....

I have arm restraints on, they are the Simpson ones that go right above my elbow. You should be able to see them if you have vid quality to hd. I pulled up and the guy teching told me I was going to hate him because I couldn't run without arm restraints. I had them shoved in the helmet and the only reason I had them was someone on this forum said they couldn't run without them. |

From the diff master:
"I like to play with the ramp angles a bit for more lock to get there. I hate more preload as it drags wheels. I would do a 3 disc setup with 35/60 ramps instead of the 45/45 angles. I would set the preload in the 40 range so it behaves normally most of the time until he hammers it."
