Best Rear Tire For BDR 18" Wheels
Looking to replace my rear Falkens as it seems they may be to tall for the limits of the suspension. What's the best size to look for to get the widest patch of rubber on the ground but not too tall to potential damage the fender?
Searching seems that 315/30/18 is they way to go.....any thoughts or suggestions on good tire in the right size?

I like nitto brand for the performance and price, all the super cars use the mich pilot super sports...

Im changing my wheels too, 18's Rear 285/40x18...27 inch diameter and 11.2 inch wide and for front 245/45x18..26.6 diameter and 9.6 wide..both 27 inch tires....which will fill the arch but not be too wide to interfere with the suspension travel.

I have seen 335's in the reat, most 18 I see are 315 in rear, which looks awesome from the back...its almost like out cars our tubbed...

On the 18s I have been running PS2 335/30/18 in rear and also the nitto DR 335/30/18. I like the nitto a little better as the tire is a little more rounded at the sidewall and tucks into the fender a little better. The DR also offers a little more traction in the summer but not as good when pavement gets cold.

Reviving old thread. The standard Backdraft roller from the factory comes with Falken Azenis 275/40ZR18’s at the rear. What tires are you guys putting on these 18” rims these days to gain a wider contact patch. 295, 315 or what? I assume the standard 18” Backdraft rear rims can accommodate a max width of about 315...?

I just ordered a RT4 from Backdraft and on the order sheet they give you an option of the Nitto 555R 335 tire for the rear |

NT01s are great, but no good wet. R888rs and Michelins. I had the NT01s and now R888r on 17s. Both are great.

I like my Nitto's a lot. Once the tires are warmed up I have excellent traction. Regarding wet traction.... I never have I never will drive my car in the wet |

I've had the Nitto's on mine for 18 months or so. Very happy. Much better then the Goodyear F1's that came on her.

I am running 17” wheels on my BDR #165. I have sourced and purchased NT01 for the front but am having a really hard time finding the 315/35-17 NT01’s for the rear. I was warned against mixing and matching front and rear tires but it seems impossible to get the correct ones to match from Nitto or R888’s in the correct size for the front 245/45-17.
