2010 BDR electrical problems

I had to get a new battery today, the original one would not hold a charge. Here is where I ran into my problem.............After installing the new battery, and yep... I installed it correctly, there is no power. The battery has 12.9 v. I took the dang thing back out and had it tested under load. It tested good.... My question is,is there a inline fuse besides the fuses in the fuse box? Could it be possible it's the battery cut off switch? There is zero power!!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There's a main engine fuse on the harness just above the passenger footbox in the engine bay. Have also seen faulty cut off switches over the years.

Thank you for the reply......... on the fire wall side, I found the 2 lugs on battery cutoff switch not tighten. I could turn the nuts by hand. I guess I need to add this to my check list every couple of months.

How do you get access to these lugs? Where are they on the firewall?

Yes sir.......... You need to remove the small plastic black box mounted on the firewall to gain access to the lugs. Do yourself a favor and disconnect the ground on the battery first before tighten the nuts.......... don't ask how I know this.

Be sure to acquire a small short screw driver to get the 4 screws out to access the attaching nuts to the back of the cut off switch. If you need a new switch contact Summit racing. The one I got from Backdraft had the bolt attachment holes in the wrong place and would not fit correctly.

Good info Jim. Going to need a stubby screwdriver for this one.

I got mine from Sears and another one from ace hardware. Made the job easier. If you need to replace the cut off switch the 2 attaching machine screws are under the carpet and can be accessed without damaging the carpet if careful.

Jim is the carpet glued in place? How did you peel it off?

The carpet is glued in place. All you need to do is get the screw driver on the head of the bolt in order to hold it so you can remove the nuts. Have someone hold it by lifting the carpet above the heads and place a screw driver on the head to hold it. You should not damage the carpet.

Be sure you have the battery disconnected at the battery so not to create a spark.
