Backdraft Valuation
I'm thinking about selling my Backdraft #388 and wanted to get an idea of it's value.. I searched Cobra country and this web site and they seem to be priced near $50k. I'm looking for people who recently purchases to chime in.
Built 2006 #388
Crimson red with gray ghost stripe and brown interior
408 stroker TK500 trans
Soft top and tourneau covers
Heater and ceramic coated headers
7500 miles
excellent condition and well sorted
Thanks
Gary

Realistically it depends on the actual condition and presentation of the car.
Right now, maybe $43,500-$48,000 tops if presented extremely well.
My suggestion, BAT (Bring a trailer) as a BDR has yet to be presented on their new auction format.

Thanks, I feel like a good starting price should be $49,000. I just have to make the decision if it's time to sell or hold.

Call Jay at Vintage and ask his opinion. I think they deal with pre-owned Cobras...

Early car. It's what is called an RT2. The car mentioned above at $45k would be an RT3 and not the same valuation. Just like any used car sales there are private party and retail sale numbers.
There's a big void in the $35k to 45k price range. You would be inside that, I would say right in the middle

Just my opinion: the problem with these cars is this: every day, more Cobra replicas are being built. So the supply chain is increasing, which means in theory; prices will be going down, not up....as more and more become available. So if you're thinking of selling, holding probably isn't the best move...they are only going down in value, not up.

That has not been the case with Backdrafts. Since new car pricing keeps going up and the demand has grown as the brand is more known, the older cars have been trending up. The last year has been really strong.

Cool! Being a dealer, I imagine you have a relatively large data base to show this value trend. It would be good to post it to help out the OP put a number on his car.

Cashburn,
Do you have any history on #841 by chance. It is a silver/black stripe (and blacked out) with Roush Supercharger. I'm curious if it made the RT3B cut, or is it an RT2?

We did not build it so I cannot confirm either way.

I'm a porn star stand-in. Join Club Porn Star Stand-in forum and I'll be happy to share the info with you there.
But seriously, is that info top secret? Not sure why value trend data would be, or harmful to publish, but yeah ok.

I am leaving the setting of the sale price of my car to my heirs ... along with the car.
