Default VMS Tow fitting

Got the VMS tow fitting installed today. Had to do a bit of fabbing as my RT2 only had one mounting point that matched the fitting. All good though.

Thanks Jay it turned out great.

Looks good. Yeah you have to drill the front 2 holes. Glad you like it.

On my frame there is no drop down frame area for the two fwd bolts.
I added a 1/4" thick 2"w X 3.5" down leg steel angle 4" long. Attached it to the 2"x2" box frame rail with two 5/16"nf ARP through bolts. Drilled and tapped the down leg for 3/8-16 bolts.

OK, must be RT2/RT1 difference. Our first car here was #188.

Is that a setup for a tow bar for flat towing?

On the BDR there is an under car forward tow fitting welded to the frame on the left side. Like on this car.

On my car (very early unit # the fitting is on the right side frame only probably because the cars are made in SA, I'm guessing).
In any case I felt my existing R/H factory tow fitting was too thin to provide adequate lateral support for the new VMS Tow fitting that protrudes from the front of the car.

I love the way it looks. It was easy to install and it's very well made.
