Roush Air Filter Replacement
Since #997 was built in 2008 I figure it might make sense to replace the Air Filter in the Roush Assembly versus cleaning. Anyone successfully locate this part?
I went through the "find filter by size" on the K&N website ... nada. E3515 is the closest. The only option at Iconic is to buy the whole assembly. No filters. |
Closest to what? Post your filters LxWxH here so that people can give you some advice.

Has K&N printed on one side and this part # on the other: C147AB - 1
Outside dimensions: 14 1/3 x 7 3/4 x 2 1/2 Inside dimensions: 12 1/2 x 6 x 2 1/2 |
I too have had a devilish time finding any filter taller than 2” in this oval size. 3” would be ideal but I’ll take even 2.5” if available (as a standalone filter only and no housing).

If you go the standard cobra oval, the below dimensions and link should help.
Tony Branda Oval 20.8 x 9.5 x 2.25 S&B Oval Air Filter Element (Tall) https://store.cobranda.com/sbovairfielt.html K&N E-1963 20.8 x 9.5 x 3 E-1960 20.8 x 9.5 x 1.8 (Standard) |
Just looking to replace the filter. I have this Roush assembly: https://www.iconicparts.com/roush-ov...eaner-ass.html

In this thread FredG said he uses a K&N E-3515, He has the same air cleaner as you do.

Interesting, I looked at this same Filter on Amazon-- different dimensions listed: https://www.amazon.com/3515-High-Per...ps%2C67&sr=8-1
Now that I look on the K&N site, I see the same dimensions as what Summit shows: https://www.knfilters.com/e-3515-oval-air-filter So basically.... Amazon jacked my search. :) Thanks for setting me straight. |

Update: The 3515 won't work for me. I need the 2 1/2" of filter height. At 2" (3515) the screw does not tighten enough and the assembly is loose. I think a washer might look tacky. :)

So the screw is a few threads too long using the 2.0" filter? Can you take 3-4 threads of the screw with a dremel or belt sander?
Or buy a shorter screw? https://www.mcmaster.com/screws/ |
I have the same filter and housing bought new bolt (counter sunk Allen)at Lowes polished it look like chrome sealed with clear coat, anything taller rubs hood
