Default Which Air Filter

It's time for a new air filter. Should I go with another K&N or is there something better out there with the same shape? Thx

If your current filter is a K&N filter element, all you need to do is clean it and reuse it.

I’ve read they should be replaced after 10 years.

If so, another K&N or is there something better these days?

Those 10 years are based on a normal vehicle driven say 50k miles a year. In dog years, the one in your Cobra is probably 6 months old.

You can get a round air filet and it will form to the oval, just measure the circumference. Thats what K/N told me...

Does that work for ordering the K&N filters. (Just measure the circumference?). I have the long - shaped like a Tylenol air cleaner- black with the silver stripes and says cobra on top - see them on tons of cobras (best as I can describe it). I remember all my prior K&Ns being firm where you can’t really change the shape.

That's BS, even if a K&N rep said that. The oval filter needs to have straight sides. NO filter will sit correctly, unless it is made as an oval.

Put your dimensions in here, and see what turns up:

https://www.knfilters.com/search/uni...val-air-filter

I have just tried the link myself, with a large range of length and width ranges, and nothing turns up, only the little stuff.

Thanks for the filter dimensions.

Seems the K&N site doesn't work to find from dimension size, even when loading extreme values.

Clean the k&n. Re oil. They sell the cleaner and oil. Why buy a new one. It’s not even used.
