				 Autometer Guages
I just took delivery of build #101. It has the Autometer Guage package. The guages look great. When I tried the lights, all the guages were backlit except for the Clock and the Tach. After fiddling with the wires, I got both lights to turn on. The problem is that the backlighting on the clock does not do anything. There is a circuit board in the clock right up against the back of the clock face so the numbers can't get any light. Is this normal for the clock, or do I have a defective unit? Any help would be great.

CLOCK, C:LOCK, CLOCK, when it's dark you know that you are late and your wife is mad anyway. It's kind of like the expression " stop and smell the roses " , if you don't know what time it is just drive the Cobra and enjoy. John PS. Stop and get some flowers for the wife.

Hey, I didn't even know there was a clock until after I took delivery. Still would like to know if the light is supposed to do anything other than light up the inside of the clock housing! Maybe it is for the nightime clock repair person

If you insist, then drill some holes in the circuit board. The clock probably wont' work but you'll be able to see it at night.

Sorry guys, I don't know the answer to this one. Reg should check in at the first next week when he gets back into town.
The clock comes with the Auto Meter package. The VDO package has an oil temp unit there.

Call Autometer and ask. Everytime I called them, they were straight and upfront. Seemed to be good people.
 Give em a call.

Sorry, I do not have the number handy.

 Boudy,
Has anyone else had the defective oil pressure/temp sending unit problem. I have #90 and these gauges don't work at all. Apparently a bunch of the units were defective. Have you had this problem? Do you have a solution other than waiting for something to come from South Africa? I would like them to work, as I am still breaking in the engine and would like to watch the pressure and temp. |

Not sure which gauges you have. I've had some VDO's show up where the oil pressure gauge was wired in reverse.

 Boudy,
I didn't know there was more than one kind of VDO gauge! I will check to see if the wiring could have been backwards. I was told the sending units were defective on my car and several others that recently came in to California. Thanks again for the help.

Have you ever talked to Armond at Calif. Cobra?
