There are a couple new pictures in my gallery. I believe the bolts in the braces do go into the frame. I used the bezels as a pattern to cut the slots. I drilled out the slots with 3 or 4 small holes and then used a dremmel to create the slot. I filed the edges smooth. RodW explains it pretty much how I did mine.
