Just delivered #201 to an interesting new business...
Just wanted to share a pretty cool new business that just opened in NYC called Classic Car Club. They selected Vintage Motorsports (us ) to complete a BDR for their members to tear up Manhattan with:

On a balmy summer July evening an inconspicuous looking trailer pulled up outside the Club. When the trailer doors opened we got our first glimpse of our new Cobra and we were all speechless. This car has to be seen to be believed.

Check out their Web site, it's interesting what they are doing and should do pretty well in the US if they can recreate the reception in the UK so far.

I hope it takes off. I'll rent mine out for half the price and make a killing.

Who in their right mind would take any nice car into NYC? I wasn't even comfortable driving the company van there.

It makes a lot of sense, for those with the bucks to pull it off. In "New York" dollars it aint that much!
So one weekend you drive the Cobra, next weekend a killer Porsche, Ferrari, Viper, etc. It won't be long before some members are scratching their head trying to figure out WHY the Cobra draws more attention than the Ferrari, etc.

I agree that it does make sense. It's basically an upscale version of the rent me - beat me for a day found in Vegas and a few other hot spots that attract wealth. The way this is set up though, the customer doesn't want to beat it too much, or they will loose their points to take another car out. After looking at their car selection, I think they will be ordering a few more BDR's from Cashburn.

Cashburn- Think Honoruru.
Only been there once, 1993.
Some outfit was daily-renting cool cars for big bucks.
Mostly to Japanese tourists who flew in for the golf courses.
I understand that Honolulu is still filled with Japanese tourists.
Rent them a Cobra by the day/hour.
You go for it, I'm too damned old.
It's called "niche marketing."
Get rich, Brudda.

The rental place in Waikiki does have some nice rides all right, Ferrari, Viper, Hummer, etc.! The previous owner also USED to have an Excalibur, which was (at the time) about the ONLY "legal" replica you could register here.
Since our new "Cobra Law" passed it's a piece of cake registering a replica here now. I bet they WOULD entertain the idea of having a replica Cobra in their fleet, now that it's legally possible!
The Japanese tourists are just nuts about Cobras, they love all things "Americana". Harley rentals are HUGE business to that group.
