Go for the EXTREMEWEAVE in grey and add the Reflective Piping. . . Very cool looking, compact cover. I keep one in the trunk in case I'm at a cruise night, etc and shower pops-up... Keeps 95% or so of the water out....

Okay looked at the website, but since our cars are not listed what would you choose for the vehicle?

Check out this site.

http://www.carcoverworld.com/factoryfivecobra.asp

The link is for their FFR page but I called them and they had a pattern for ERA's. One of the questions they asked me was whether I had a single roll bar or dual roll bars. Maybe they have Backdraft too. Their prices seemed pretty good also. The guy I talked to was Mark. I ordered a "WeatherShield" cover from them to replace the "Superweave" cover I purchased from California Car Covers a few years ago.

The Superweave cover is great. It is water-proof, very light weight, packs down to a very small size and is machine washable.

It, however, also melts when it comes in contact with hot pipes! I got careless with it one day after a cruise and now it bears a resemblence to swiss cheese in certain places. Hence, I orderd a new one.

It looks like the "WeatherShield" fabric is the same as the "Superweave". I should know in a day or so, as it just shipped from the factory.

Rick, Not a bad thought, but I still wait for the car to cool down before the cover.. BUT, if I cant, I use a few binder clips (ya know, from an office supply store) to hold the fabric above the pipes until cool...

I see there warranty is four years. I got mine from Griots Garage, it has a Lifetime warranty. Mine was torn and showing it's age and I sent it back about 6 months ago and recieved a new one, FREE! My cover is NOT a "Cobra" cover, they sent a Mustang cover. It's WAY BIG but what the heck, it works OK and I stuff the 'left overs' in the trunk. You can order a Cobra cover from Griots but first they send you a really complicated diagram with a ton of measurments to fill out. Looked like a pain in the butt filling out the form, so I'm happy with my Mustang cover...

Oh by the way, I promptly scorched the first cover on the side pipes! Now I wait for the car to cool down before covering it.

If you need just an "Emergency" cover; one to be carried in the car while on the road if you get caught in inclement weather; an inexpensive clear plastic paint drop cloth works pretty well. Just a thought........

Has anybody been able to buy the ExtremeWeave cover for a Cobra?

I chose "1967 Cobra Shelby Cobra (427 w/roll bar)" and clicking ExtremeWeave brings you to a page with no ability to buy.

Same unavailability with all years with single roll bar via the website. I suggest calling the customer service number at 800.423.5525 for the Extremeweave.

See my gallery for my Plushweave which arrived Friday; intended for light duty outdoors.

Patrick, order the California car cover Superweave. Great looking and very water resistent. When you order, find Shelby, Cobra, then choose the model listed with top in order to get it to fit over the 2 roll bars...

In general, water resistant is better than waterproof. Breathing will keep mold and other uglies from forming. Rich

I bought my ExtremeWeave several years ago . I called customer service, gave them my dimensions and they made one for my car, (two roll bars). I carry my cover all the time, but if I'm headed to an event during the rain season or overnight, I also carry a light- weight tarp that I can put on over my car cover. Be careful of putting a tarp directly on your car, they will collect dust. Should a wind come up, it will scratch your car!

One of the good option that can have a look upon is - Covercraft. They have loads of options to choose from and it will give you exact measurement for your customized order, because most important thing for your car cover is, it should fit to your car very accurately, otherwise it will be no use of getting the waterproof car cover. Also it should be breathable and 100% water resistance. I have heard many bad stories, like they have got he waterproof covers at cheaper price and they still find the water even after applying water proof one.
