badrich, I share your concern about open track, we all should take it seriously. But here is the key to survival, have fun, you've got nothing to prove to anybody. When it becomes evident, from a flag or your rear view mirror, someone wants to pass, wave them by. I will drive at my own pace, the rest of you will have to wait for the passing zone to get around me, I don't care. :)

Don't sweat it...we're working on that. ;)

There should be preferred parking for attendees who are both members of the National SAAC and the local NorCal region as well. :D

Everytime I hear the phrase "valet parking," I immediately flashback to that scene with the two valets and the Ferrari California Spyder in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Great. Ernie may win the award of the loudest and the slowest at the track.

Excaliber 04-15-2010 11:13 AM

Hey, that works for me! Beats the heck out of doing any "agricultural" work near the corners. :)

cobra25 04-15-2010 01:53 PM

I would like to volunteer my time as a "valet"

All,

I've been working on trying to get corral parking for BACC. I'll let folks know as soon as I get word on what can be arranged.

The Embassy Suites single rooms for Saturday are gone but there is room at Four Points/Sheraton. I wonder if there will be a shuttle for us who have too much fun at Saturday evening's dinner? :p Rich

Tomorrow night, inaguaral local track debut for the ERA. I been working on it all week, suspension settings, side pipe mods, engine tune, new 5 point harness, Goodyear slicks, some new bushings here and there. This will be the first time to try out so many changes in anticipation of SAAC-35. TKO-600 coming soon, man that will be a new ball game.

Saac 35

Ron,

These are really excellent materials and should be read by all, not just first timers. The material on the proper line around Infineon was very informative because I haven't run there since 2001. I was surprised at how much I didn't know or did not remember.

Agree... and our thanks to the Nor Cal SAAC Open Track Committee for supplying these docs.

Quick Status update on WSCG at Infineon / SAAC

Rodknock-Doug,

As an FYI about this: If you did not see it on the WSCG event site, just yesterday I sent out an early message board / email notification on upcoming registration for the Western States Cobra Group member which included base lodging / hotel details. It also included details about Friday afternoon / Saturday details about attending SAAC, and our WSCG Corral that has been arranged (WSCG sticker will be required for that area) - this will be in a seperate area where all the WSCG folks and former WSCB'ers can hang out, park the cars, watch the races from there... Its gonna be very cool.

STATUS, as of 4/17/2010:
The first 30 spots are for the combined (group discounted) hotel rooms and 3-day weekend; Thur-Sun morning. The response is going very well in just the first two days. I'll be sending out registration notices mid next week I think so people can start faxing in thier hotel registrations individually. Once I get the first 30 up and going, I plan to discuss it further with the SAAC crew and we'll need to plan out how locals (not staying at the lodging) can join in on the WSCG corral/group - if they want to participate in the Friday night and Saturday things going on at Infineon. (Yes, working on it). Our WSCG sticker gets us into both thanks to the SAAC crew, Ron & Co. More details later. More details on the WSCG site / ANNOUNCEMENT discussion on the board.

Thanks for the update Duane! Look forward to hearing more details regarding the corral parking for those not planning to stay at the hotel for the weekend.

Ron: Thanks again for including the driver's guide to the track. Very well written, my palms are still sweaty. However, I seemed to miss the rest of the track after turn 17. Did I get a new guy version? Or did I get lost on the track already? :o Rich

What about RV parking? I plan on trailering up the car...and I don't belong to the boosum buddy club known as WSCG.

What arrangements do we outsiders have Ron?

DrAwender 04-18-2010 04:44 PM

Must be "dry" camping at Infinion Raceway. Yes the track does have inside showers in the main restrooms.

They allow RVs and Camping at Infineon

The track will permit overnight Campers and RVs in the Paddock. The exact locations have not been determined and will be allocated at load-in.

• No open flame campfires or barbecues. Only gas grills used for cooking are allowed.
• No waste water dumping is allowed. RV Services are available by contacting United Site Services at (707) 566-2000.
• You may not plug in to any Infineon Raceway building for power. You must supply your own generator.

Gates open daily at 6am and close at 10pm.

(we may have a "Cinderella" exception for Saturday night...stay tuned)
