Any updates or details regarding parking for Norcal and/or Bay Area Cobra Club members who would like to attend the SAAC event to watch the track day and car show?

The registration form has details for daily registration for Friday thru Sunday, but will there paved parking available?

Doug, if we can't get reasonable parking, do you want to drive up in the Bimmer and watch the festivities?

Sounds good Dave. It might be nice to ride up in comfort with the AC on. :D

Was thinking of going up on Saturday ... will know for sure when it gets closer, hope to meet up with you guys.

I made room reservations for my wife and me for the weekend...

If any of you Bay Area Cobra folks are interested, I am willing to host a "let's learn infineon" night at my place. Perhaps a week or two before SAAC. I have a good racing sim that runs iRacing. Plus lots of in car videos.

I'll let Steve chime in, but I'm sure the Ranch would be willing to set something up for a pre SAAC tech day with set up advice, safety equipment, etc.

For those who really want to be ahead of the game, we will be racing at Infineon the end of the month with NASA. Currently there are some spots left for HPDE group 1 where you will have one on one track time with an instructor.

Yup, I'm all over the SIM racing thing here as well. I'm using a PS2 and Gran Turismo 4, various cars. I've looked into the IRacing thing, wow, it's very competitive and very real. Not that PS2 and GT4 aren't, that also is very accurate to realism. GT4 has the Infineon track, both the standard layout and the NASCAR layout, which incorporate different corners, length and such. Steering wheel, clutch and brake setup are the best way to go over a joy stick or hand held controller.

The Cobra on the PS2 is virtually impossible to drive with any engine modifications, by the way. It swaps ends in a heart beat if you even THINK about giving it a little more gas. :)

There will be pavement parking for BACC and ClubCobra attendees.

Specifics to follow (as the paddock layout is finalized)

That's great! Thank you.

Who's going to SAAC-35 on Saturday, 8/28 ?
I'd interested in attending; anyone going up in that morning?

Randy Rosenberg 08-27-2010 06:42 AM

We're headed up this afternoon and plan to spend the weekend in Sonoma - unfortunately, we're not spending the entire weekend at the track...

4pipes 08-27-2010 07:03 AM

Doug and I are going up for day on Saturday in my oil burner.

Monster 08-27-2010 07:48 AM

I'm planning on going up Sat. after breakfast at Rockhouse.

REMINDER: Corral parking is available to "classic FORDS" (Cobras-GT's, Coupes, Mustangs etc.) Mention that you are with Club Cobra or BACC when you pick up your passes at the gate check-in.

see ya,
Mike

Tim/Doug/Dave: how about we all meet at BJ's near Apple Computers? ANd what route would you like?

I personally like 280 into SF then GGB/101 North; usually I take the scenic route (i.e. 280->Brotherhoodway -> Lake Merced to Hwy 1 -> Sutro Baths/Legion of Honor -> Presideo -> GGB). But we can do a direct drive along Park Presideo. :-/

tkb289 08-27-2010 01:00 PM

Herman,

Sounds good ...

Dave / Doug sent another PM.

Tim,

I sent you a PM. We're leaving for Sonoma around 8:00 am in Dave's daily driver, so I guess we'll catch up with you there.
