What????
NO DATZILLA????????? ...love that car.:D |
How cool! Hey, is that the Bronco with the spoiler for a roof? I think that Bronco was in the final "garage scene" in the original "Gone is 60 Seconds" from 1976.
Sounds like a great event. What's the plan for parking? DD |
I would suggest the following for parking:
1) Head over to the McDonalds nearby and grab breakfast/coffee at 7:30AM 2) Head over to Mustang Ranch and get parking. I'm thinking 7:30 might even be too late considering that the DATSUN club got wind of this so now we've got a bunch of dedicated BRE nuts vying for a parking spot as well. But I'm planning on getting their pretty early. |
Or you can just take the daily driver and park wherever you want. :)
Still trying to extract myself from another commitment so I can make it. |
Or bring the Harley and park just about anywhere!! That is if I don't go to the auction with my son to buy a truck!
Scott |
There are places to park, - just be aware your daily drivers are appropriate for this day, there will be a lot of people.

Parking update -
Greetings, -- this is the well awaited parking update, --
We have made arraignments with Tires Unlimited to use their Back lot as well as ours. There is plenty of street parking ( don't forget in the back of our building on CIVIC CENTER DRIVE -- INCLUDING THE PUBLIC PARKING LOT THERE ( Note Signs Please ) additionally there are a couple of vacant lots close to the shop ( park at your own risk ) See You here ! |
Doug and our friends from South of the Equator,
That would be in SANTA CLARA near Santa Clara University, not San Jose.......Hate to see you guys make a wrong turn at El Camino and end up at some Corvette shop near San Jose State! -Jon P.S. Yes, as a City of Santa Clara employee I take offense every time I hear a radio ad for Frontier Ford in "San Jose".....THEY ARE IN SANTA CLARA!!!!!!! Please buy a car there, we could use the tax money. :) |
Thanks again for putting on the Pete Brock event at the Ranch today.
What an awesome day! Great stories from Pete, cars, and food...what more can you ask for! :D Here's a great vintage pic of Pete and his legendary Coupe back in the day. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...petebrock1.jpg |
A special Thank You to all those who helped put the "Peter Brock Day" together and make it such a success. I really enjoyed the talk he gave. That man has some real stories.
The blood-red Daytona Coupe of his was incredible. |
Steve / Joe and the crew and Mustang Ranch thank you for a memorable first rate event, great turnout of people and cars!
Peter … thank you for your interesting and informative talk about the design and creation of the Coupe, it's historical significance and a glimpse of behind the scenes events during that exciting time. Here are a few photos … lots more to come from others I am sure. - Tim Peter Brock http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC_0565.jpg Peter's Coupe http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC_0603.jpg Our Hosts Steve and Joe with Peter http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC_0628.jpg |
Thanks !!!
Steve - You and your team did a great job today. Everyone was helpful and your "light lunch" was fantastic. Peter Brock was terrific. Thank you for putting this together.
Now..if it hadn't of rained enroute back to Santa Rosa, it would have been a perfect day. |
Steve - Absolutely a great event. Being able to hear Pete Brock talk about Shelby racing and the development of the Daytona coupe' was fascinating and memorable. And winning the Cobra valve covers for my ERA FIA was icing on the cake!
Memorable event. Looking forward to following the restoration of the Katrina coupe'. DD |
