It was like 33 degrees this morning if my outside temp gauge was working correctly.

10 quarts of oil takes a long time to properly heat up and at near freezing temps, it takes much longer.

I've got a small block with 10 quarts. Do you run an oil cooler? Block it off and your oil temp will rise in no time. Or get your motor an electric blanket.
