Alice's - Sat. 6/30/12?
Third time's a charm?
I get my car back from repairs/upgrades today and would like to blow the spiderwebs out this weekend. Alice's at 8:30 Saturday morning would be a good start with perhaps a drive out to the Coast afterwards. Any takers?
While the last couple of Saturdays have been most enjoyable at Alice's, there have been very few Cobras. Weather is forecast to be nice. I hope you can make it.

Sounds good Tom.
I'll be in Saratoga at the Starbuck's at about 7:45 and plan on leaving for Alice's around 8:00 am. I'll probably run out to the coast from Alice's then back down Hwy 1.

well, you won't be seeing me for the next 3 weeks as DWA is moving around the corner but they decided to move 1 floor at a time. Last week I was in Cancun for the first move but will be doing the next 3 floors. I "should" be back on track come July 21st.

Count me in. Saratoga at 7:30 for a Starbucks, then up the hill for breakfast. When will Steve show up for breakfast again? If Dave shows up he can see a new 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca. If Tim shows up everyone else will get to see his car now that it's on the road! You guys gotta start showing up to breakfast again - before we know it summer will be over and you're all going to be parking in the garage again! See you Saturday. -Jerome

Newby here. I am just a couple of weeks into learning how to drive my Backdraft. I might make it to Starbucks since it is close. My only concern is waking up my neighbors with the car's exhaust noise. But I definitely can't make it to Alice's in less than an hour, so I'll have to pass on this one. Maybe next time.

Richard - we all face the noise and neighbors issue. I warm my car up the night before which allows me to fire it up and drive away slowly in the morning, until the temperatures reach operating levels. I also back into my garage to allow for a fast getaway upon firing it up. Be respectful of your neighbors and hopefully they will keep mum, enjoying hearing and seeing you when you return from an excursion. I keep the noise down for the first couple of blocks from my home since those are the folks that hear you most frequently.
Looks like you will have some company on the drive from Saratoga to Alice's should you change your mind. It is a beautiful drive and if driven carefully, it will allow you to get more comfortable with your car. You could also leave home at 7:30, not stopping at Starbucks, and easily make it to Alice's by 8:30. If you have a problem, the other guys will be along shortly to help out. Should you nix Alice's completely, do try to hit Starbucks and introduce yourself and your car to those guys. It is a great way to start a weekend.
Hope to meet you soon. Tom

Richard,
Welcome and congratulations on your new Backdraft. Your neighbors will get used to the noise...ask me how I know.
Tim used to follow us up to Alice's in his TR6 before he got his Cobra on the road and it didn't take him an hour to get up to Alice's.

Tom,
Glad to hear you have your Cobra back !
Richard,
Congratulations on your new Backdraft, look forward meeting you at a breakfast and seeing your Cobra. If you don't take your Backdraft this time, just follow the guys up in your daily driver. Like Doug said, if a TR6 can make it just about anything can
That being said … I can't make it this time ... My car is done at long last, I am very interested to see what you guys think. Catch you next time!

Sorry, I was also in Paradise last week with two of our kids!! Great trip to Maui!!
As for the neighbors not liking the noise of the car. I figure I have heard them enough over the years. It is what it is. I try to get it warmed up and gone as quick as possible, but don't go way out of my way to do so!!
