Need recommendation for paint restoration
I made a huge mistake and went to the local car stereo installer to have a clear bra put on my Superformance Cobra. Not only did they do a horrible job, but they put razor cuts in the paint all over the front of the car. Also, when the bra was removed, it took some patches of paint off with it.
So now I'm looking to have the paint repaired. Can anyone recommend a good shop in the Bay Area? I've already talked to Frank Zucchi in Livermore and Tom at Campbell Auto Restoration. If anyone's had experience with those places, I'd be interested to hear about it.
The one estimate I've received so far has been in the $8,000-10,000 range, which seems high. It's not a show car, so the paint doesn't need to perfect. It just needs to be a reasonable facsimile of what the car looked like before I had the bra put on.
Thanks in advance.
(Also, in case anyone's wondering: my credit card company refunded my money for the clear bra installation, and I plan to file a lawsuit in small claims court for the damage to the paint.)

Try Ken's Auto Body in Yuba City 530-671-7250. He's the go to guy in the Bay Area...

Agreed Ken is the man. He has painted tens if not hundreds of Cobras and Daytona coupes. Painted my Daytona coupe and did a first rate job. Depending on how busy he is it can take a while to get it done.

Will Harrison at Harrison's Custom's in Tracy. He is a fiberglass artist. He's doing the restoration on the paint for Ron 61's coupe. 209-989-9902

Restoration Shop
So/Cal paint works in Santee Ca. ( San Diego) has done five cars for me.They will pay half of the cost of transporting.
I won first in class at the La Jolla Concourse de Elegance this year with one of them. . I will be taking one of them to the Coronado Speed festival this weekend on North Island Navy base.

If you don't mind traveling, Jason Haskin's Hot Rod Shop outside of Sacramento does awesome work. He restored one of the original Daytona Coupes about 8 years ago. In fact he just finished up a beautiful '67 GT500 this week.

There are bay area options for this - send me a PM - who painted the car the first time , how old is the paint?
Do we know the color code and if it is water base or enamel or lacquer ?
Matching is harder than people think , and off on the wrong direction one can spend years getting it right.

Bring it up here to the Yuba College Auto Body shop. The last Superformance we did has won just about every show it has been entered in. Just won last weekend again over my Cobra. We only charge for material and a donation to the Auto Club. P.M. me if you are interested.

I had Ken Pike (Yuba City) do the gloss black on my ERA 289 FIA. Great work, and much less than I would have paid for the work here in the Bay Area / Santa Cruz.

Can anyone out there help me to determine if Ken Pike is still in business? My car has been there since June and I just got back in country two weeks ago. No answers to my emails or phone calls. HELP!!
