DIY Lexan Windshield & Replacement

In 2001 after having my windshield broken by a rock I posted this DIY for replacing the windshield in your Cobra with a low cost Lexan windshield.

This windshield is now 15 years old and looks the same today as it did when I installed it.

The link below is to my original thread on how to make and install you new Lexan replacement windshield. Total cost was about $125 ( probably gone up about $10 or so since then)

Good luck,

Thanks Mikey,

I'm going to give a glass windshield one more try. Ken at Ken's Custom in Yuba City replaces the entire Superformance windshield and frame. He said that's the only way he does it because of the failures in just glass replacement...primarily because of the frame being damaged from old windshield removal, screws that are too long,or windshield not being centered.

I called Hillbank and they recommend the same. If they change the windshield alone they warranty it until it leaves the parking lot. With the entire windshield already framed at Superformance in S. Africa they warranty the workmanship for one year.

I copied your post and will go Lexan if I have another failure. The first made it 27,000 miles.
