Default Snakes to the Lake - Saturday BAY AREA departure

Not being part of the F-Troop, I'm heading up on Saturday morning...

Anyone else leaving the SF Bay Area on Saturday morning? If so, then wanna meet and caravan up together?

Thanks,
Randy R...

Randy,

If you are planning on meeting in placerville saturday am, then we'll be glad to caravan up there with you. I'll probably see you before then.

I'll join up with your group... how early will we have to leave? We could meet at the Athens and eat first if you think that there is time...

cheers

I may have to start a new thread...

The intent that I had of this thread when I started it was: to discuss a plan for those of us in the Bay Area to meet and caravan Saturday morning to Placerville.

I've discussed this briefly with Tony, Joe and Steve:

Let's meet at Athen's Burgers in Dublin for breakfast. Then be ready (fueled and packed) to leave Athen's around 7:15 or so. This gives us time for a fuel/rest stop somewhere around 1/2 way between Dublin and Placerville (anyone got any ideas of a good fuel/rest stop?). And it should give us time when we arrive in Placerville for a fuel/rest stop before departing with the main group at 10am from Placerville.

If you're interested in this plan, then please post here.

Also, please discuss this at breakfast this Saturday. I won't be at breakfast, so I'm looking for someone to update this thread from any discussion / decisions made.

Thanks,
Randy R...

P.S. Last night I met Jeff Miller - he's from El Dorado, and he just purchased an SPF. I told him that we can meet him at his exit, so that he can join us to Placerville - I'll call him from our 1/2 way fuel/rest stop to confirm exit and time.

If we are going 580 to 5 etc, there is a huge Shell gas station at Laguna blvd, the last rural exit before entering Sacramento

here is the link:

http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?BFC...%A0Map=Get+Map

If we are going 80, there is a Union 76 at 2026 North Texas Blvd in Fairfield that sells 100 octane unleaded at the pumps.......

whatever, I can use 91 and there is another 76 station basically at the corner of 680 and 80...

cheers

Hi Guys,

I'm in...If the Unique is not back on the road by then Pat and I will be in our Cobra Analog......BMW 330cic.

I will follow along at the rear of the pack, humbly switching gears on the automatic five speed with a mere 245 HP six cylinder under the hood. Air conditioning/CD/seat heaters/convertible top down etc. etc. BTW there is a rear seat if anybody needs a lift .

Guys,

The official STTL web site has been updated with directions. Check it out...

http://home.attbi.com/~sshweet/event...directions.htm

We have a choice of either joining a group in Rancho Cordova, or meeting the whole gang in Placerville.

Dublin to Rancho Cordova is about 100 miles...

http://www.mapquest.com/directions/m...=&lr=2&x=0&y=0

How about we cruise from Athens to Bradshaws, fuel/rest stop there, then join the group from there to Placerville?

Easy? Doable? Minimal decisions

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Randy R...

We talked about this again on Saturday and the gist is that we will meet at Athens at 0630 on the 5th (Tony was right..) and go 580 to 5 to Rancho Cordova and meet the rest of the group there. To be fair to the Athens , we should give them a close approximation of the number that will be there early. So far it seems to be 8 - Joe,Tony,Randy, me and our passengers.

Please update this post if you will be joining us at the ATHENS on the 5th, at 0630 or so.....

Hi Larry,

The plan is to leave Athens by 7:15 sharp (sooner is always better), and Athens will open for us @ 6:30 to serve us breakfast.

See ya then,
Randy R...

Larry & others, please make sure you have emailed your participation to STTL2002@hotmail.com ASAP. I just looked at the list of people on the web site and did not see your name.

It looks like Hotmail is kicking back many of your emails. Please use my email for RSVP's at msborden@att.net and I will forward them to Jonah's work email.

Sorry for the problems.

I was speaking with a friend who lives at Tahoe-Donner today and apparently there is no snow - contrary to news reports. It is , however in the 20's at night so it would be wise to bring winter clothes.....
