Tony,

I am planning on the same thing. I was thinking about joining the HPDE but decided to just be an observer. See you Sat.

Hey guys,

There is a large gathering of FFR's meeting at Sears Point this Saturday. They say there should be around 100 cars and 20 spec racers on the track. It is a full day event with a cobra car show and the works. I believe there even letting the non spec racers cruise the track. Hope to see some of you guys there.

Later........Curtis

This appears to be a FFR ONLY event "FFROGFEST West". There is a car show (FFR ONLY) , Touring Laps (12-1 FFR ONLY) and Spec car races (FFR Spec car racer National Championships) here's the link to the schedule http://factoryfive.com/table/showeve.../schedule.html

NON-FFR spectators can come and watch.

As for this weekend.....my Arntz and I will be attending the Athens Open event on Sat. and will not be able to make it up to Infinion.

Well, Mike, it has always been advertised as an FFR event, not a Cobra (er, Roadster) event. So, I'm not surprised that the activities are for FFR only. In fact, I expect the activities to be open only to FFR.

I'd like to go, but I've got other, higher priority, activities planned.

See ya tomorrow morning,
Randy R...

P.S. Do ya think I gotta put my wipers back on?

I thought I received a post card about this event. I don't remember reading about a $10.00 gate fee.

Infineon charges a $10- gate fee for any event for which you are not an official... this is new this year. It is the norm at most tracks that are hosting race groups..... Sears never did which is probably why they sold the track name to the Krauts....

Hi Guys,

Saturday is a NASA event you pay your money and run what you bring....Additionally the FFR events are going on in parallel. If you have never raced NASA before the Tech inspect is minimal and the very first time you are required to have an instructor in your car...if you have two roll bars or do a follow and learn on the track.

There are four levels 1-4 with 1 being the lowest, Saturday is $180 and you need a helmet and long sleeve shirt while driving. There are 27 FFR spec racers signed up for the national event to determine the top dog for the series.

Race what you bring , heat it up, run it hard....I am going up after breakfast.

Mike are you still willing to weld the yoke from the floor jack... I finally recieved the part form Harbor Freight and it will not work...Let me know and I will bring it Saturday.

Tony,

Thanks for clearing things up for me about Sat at Infinion. I didn't go to the Infinion pages (my mistake) I may have to change my plans for Sat. ?

Here's what it says on the Infinion site about Sat. also the $10 is mentioned at the end.

Tony: Bring the part Sat.:

Cobra Replicas, Bondurant Highlight NASA Weekend at Infineon Raceway
SONOMA, Calif. - More than 50 Mustang Cobra replicas are expected to grace the Infineon Raceway road course this weekend (Nov. 23-24) when the facility hosts the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and the Factory Five National Spec Racer Championship.

The weekend will be highlighted by the first-ever National Run-offs for Factory Five Cobra replicas on the 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course. With more than 150 Spec Racer kits delivered to enthusiasts around the country, organizers expect more than 50 competitors to test their skills at Infineon Raceway. Racing legends Bob Bondurant and Dick Smith, the world's most successful vintage Cobra pilot of all time, will also be on hand to compete in the weekend's events.

The racing schedule for these machines includes a test and tune day on Friday, practice and qualifying on Saturday and a race for the championship on Sunday among 25 of the fastest Spec Racers from the east and west coasts. The weekend will also feature more than 100 FFR 65 Roadsters, Coupes and Spec Racers on display in a one-day car show on Saturday.

The track will also play host to a full slate of NASA racing action in a total of 12 classes. Vintage stock cars from the NASCAR Winston Cup and Southwest Tour series will highlight the NASA events. The Spec Mazda Miata series will also take to the track with more than 20 competitors in equally prepared Miatas. Fans can expect to see everything from Hondas to BMWs competing on track this weekend.

Gates open each day at 8:30 a.m. and admission is $10 for a weekend pass. For more information on this event, please visit www.nasaproracing.com.

Thanks,
Mike "monster"

Tony,

I was there for awhile on Saturday, driving my nonCobra bowtiemobile. I don't know if any of you guys got the FFR postcard invitation? Anyway, I just showed it to the lady at the gate and she let me through. Looked for you but didn't find you, did see your Unique, which is looking very good. Also saw that new FFR roadster thingie...not all that great in my book. On the other hand, the FFR Coupe with the white wheels looked great...Gary Cheney's car, I think, which he's just sold?

Adios,

Tom T.
