Breakfast Saturday 8-30-08

Bajis or alices >? what will it be >? --->?

I have invited a old Club Cobra (and morgan driver) Tom Roderick along , he has a Kellison Stallion (Pre West Coast Cobras, Cobra. )

-- his car is back together (long story) and he is needing some help/advise on if his car qualifies for a SB100 or not. (details shortly).

Ideas and Blueberry pancakes welcome.

Steve,

A group of us are heading up to Alice's. We should be there around 8. Pre meeting at the 76 near the bottom of hwy 9 at 7:30.

I'm planning on it.

Not sure if it'll hold, but Santa Cruz went from a week of being really wet and foggy in the morning, to crystal clear and sunny today. Might shape up for a nice drive out 84 to the coast and South or North on Hwy 1 (depending on your destination).

scootter 08-27-2008 04:36 PM

Doug,
Sounds Good!
Have you ever cut off 84 to Pescadero to hwy 1?
Scott

vanoochka 08-27-2008 04:55 PM

Breakfast at Alice's - $8.00
Gas to Alice's and back - $50.00
2 hour cruise with your buddies down the california coast on a clear day - priceless

I'm in!

289fia_cobra 08-27-2008 05:21 PM

ok, if the "boss" has nothing planned, I'm in; wish I could get to 9/35 but will settle for a straight shot along 280.

I've done that drive a few times. Are you looking for an opinion, or making a suggestion? :p

P.S. - Pescadero road was paved and heavily graveled from Duarte's to Water St. a few weeks ago.

scootter 08-27-2008 05:44 PM

No thanks on the gravel. I did that on Mines rd one time. It took me 3 hours to get back to SJ.

Herman, I am the President in my house. You need to tell them in a nice way, not ask!! Why can't you go up hwy 9??

Yep, even my old rock hard, GY's were making a racket!

Damn, Mr. President, if I only knew Danette's email address I think I would be eating a free breakfast Saturday morning!

If you haven't driven it, a long section of Pescadero Road is very much like Hicks Road down our way, with one really tight hairpin after another, and not a great surface. 84 is more much more fun IMHO, especially now that they finished all the roadwork. Unfortunately, we will probably hit some beach traffic at that time of day.

I wish I could join you guys... Have fun!

heh, she's the boss because she makes 2x what I earn so you know the golden rule... :(

To get to 9 & 35 would mean I have to leave at 6:30PM to get there anywhere close to 7. I guess if I leave by 6, I'll make it. What time do you get to that point (or do you?)

I've gone the opposite direction - Hwy 1 through Pescadero to 84.

I'll never forget the drive. I had just got my car and I was following Tom Howland. My car had a carb stumble at the time and I hit the gas coming out of a corner and it was like a turbo kicking in! The road was a little wet and I got sideways and experienced the famous Cobra "oh shix!!" moment.

We'll have to do the drive when the gravel subsides.

The 76 Station in Saratoga is 30 minutes, at the most, from Sunnyvale. You can leave at 7 and make it.

... now there is a great idea ... a small block V8 in a British sports car ... I like the way you think Steve :D

I actually have thought about it, but the TR does not lend itself to a motor swap as a Big Healey would for example. So ... I just have to get a Cobra !
