Chassis Inspection Day / Dyno Day

Would you fine folks be interested in a Chassis Inspection Day / Dyno Run Day / BBQ with your SPF's ERA's and FFR's at the Ranch >?

Talked to Jeff (csxwnab) at Alices a couple of breakfasts ago - and we had this idea;

At the Mustang Ranch, we would be capable to offer a service where we could put BACC Cobras up on a lift -- and help the owners review what is the current goings on underneath their beastie.

We do track inspections for vintage racers all the time ( well during race season that is...)

The other activity would be Dyno pulls to see if their motor is as advertised!>!>!

Thoughts , Ideas, Suggestions >?

When? What type of dyno? How much?

RodKnock 12-18-2008 09:57 AM

I would be interested in everything that's been mentioned. I would love to find the time to get under the car and see what's going on even with only 500 miles thus far. The dyno day is a great idea.

I'd be interested, but would like to know pricing and dates.

Do you mean the famous Mustang Ranch out in Nevada? I thought they had closed. I did not realize that they offered inspection and performance measurement services. :JEKYLHYDE

Steve, would you shoot for Spring, when you can be assured that there would be no rain?

Are we talking about just dyno pulls or possibly dyno tuning?

If you/we want larger attendance, then you might want to think about combining with the NorCal Shelby Club and maybe even the local Tiger club (STOA or Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association) since they occasionally run dyno days as well.

Sounds like fun, I would go for that, cant get a ticket on the dyno.

PANAVIA 12-18-2008 09:56 PM

I would want to Do them quarterly. ---say every 90 days , that way we have a schedule. ---we have a full chassis dyno, Dynajet etc.

we would welcome Cobra's , mustangs, Corvettes , Austin Healeys, (checking if you are reading this ) etc.

Dyno tuning is available as well, we have our chip tuner come up and we can also tune carbs on the dyno. -- Note: this requires an O2 sensor to be installed.

Dyno Pulls: I was thinking a club cobra rate $65 hookup and 3 pulls included. each addnl pull 20$

Dyno Tuning at $150/hr. (plus O2 Install)
Custom Chips Burned $TBD
Chassis Inspection at 95$/Hr.(photos taken and CD included)

How about the first one SATURDAY 12-27-2008 >? everyone is off right >?

thoughts >?

You might find that a lot of people are gone that last week of the year.

Does an O2 sensor need to be installed for a dyno carb tune? If so, can you elaborate?

Does the $65 dyno session include the BBQ? :D

vanoochka 12-19-2008 03:04 AM

Count me in for carb tuning on the dyno on the 27th, with or without BBQ. :3DSMILE:

Steve,
Yes, I would like to do it all. I am in the middle of installing a new motor, so for me spring/summer would be best. I will be running webers so should I bung for an O2 sensor on one header or both? Excited to hear you make this offer.

Veloce 12-20-2008 06:18 PM

Spring time sounds really great for me!

Spoke with the other owners and we are going to run these every 6 weeks or so. so there will be opportunities for everyone to come and meet the "New Musang Ranch".

we will be making sure to pick weekends where there is NO RAIN so that we can be assured of a safe event and protecting the cars.

we have moved the 27th event to the 3rd, for people who alrady have bungs can get dyno'd.

if you need a bung we can work a sepperate appointment to bring your car in and get it done.

Thank you!!

I didn't see a real nice place to install bungs on my sidepipes and the thought of drilling my sidepipes gives me "hives." I'd show up to watch if I was in town.

Like Scott, I'll show up and watch/cheer from the peanut gallery. You should install some portable grandstands.

I'm going wait until my engine warranty is over in July to do any tweaking. :)
