I am building a Hunter Cobra Kit Car! The running gear calls for all Corvette suspension from 1984 to 1987! I know this sounds odd for a Ford car but the concept really is a sweet one!
I have polished all of the A-arms, Nuckles, Rear Center Section. and anything else aluminum to show quality! The idea of having independent suspension for cornering and handling made a believer out of me! There are plenty of sources to get all the necessary parts you will need to build your dream car! I am just starting and I will post pictures later!!!

As long as you are happy with the car what the hell does it matter!!! Sh!t, it old CS could have hooked up with GM instead of Ford back then we would all be running Chevy power plants in our cars. As far as resale value goes.........that could be a different story all together. Good luck and lets see some pics!!!

Welcome to the small but growing Hunter Family. I have had Hunter #009 on the road since September. I have had it at two track events at the Gainesville test track(1.0 to 1.6 mile depending on layout road course) I have a 5.0 Mountaineer motor with a hotter cam, headers and a holley 600 on an edelbrock manifold. My suspension is a 1985 C4 vette with the Dana 36 with really crappy 2.73 rear gears. I am running 17" Kumho street tires. At the last event I was running about 4 seconds behind a 2001 Z06 Vette with R compound tires and a Superformance with 17" Kumho R compound tires and a very hot 427. Engineer Ed was there with his FFR running a 347 and 3.73 rear gears. He wa running about 2 seconds ahead of me. The car is very smooth and I think if I went with 3.55 or 3.73 rear gears I could really give Ed a run for his money.

I built my car over 18 months buying things as I needed them or getting soem bargins on this forum and Cobra forum.

Thanks aumoore, I love the picture of your car it really looks great! I am working on car #3 that I bought off of a guy that did nothing to get the car started. I have all of my A-arms and supsension parts polished, and bolted on, and I just bought new 20" Torque Thrust II Wheels I am working on buying the Pirelli tires to go on the back wheels 285/30/20's for the back 10" wide wheels and 245/35/20 for the 8 inch wide front wheels for the front! I am getting anxious to set her down on the floor! I am trying to sell a show truck I have right now so I can buy more parts for my Cobra! I am going to order the 502 Chevy Big block with 502 HP, with 567 ft. lbs. of torque! I am hoping to thump on some cars in town bad! Well I appreciate you acknowledging my thread, and I will try to get some pictures of what I do have gotten done so far up on the sight soon! I will stay in touch and wish me luck on getting my car to look as good as your's!

To find a great condition vette with a little minor fiberglass damage, maybe bad interior, etc...but solid, and turn that into a cobra, seems to be a winner. Everett Morrison also makes a similar car, they advertise in kit car magazine, but it seems they do not have a website. You can do a lot with a chevy small block.

The Hunter Kit used the front and rear suspension from a 1984 to 1987 corvette not the chassis or any of the body parts. EM uses their own chassis and body as well.

Actually the Corvette donor parts on my Hunter Cobra are manufctured by Dana Corp(rear differential, half shfts), Alcoa(aluminum A-arms, spindles) and Girling(brakes)

Someone needs to mention to these guys (EM) that they don't list their website addy in the full page color ad. Seems to be an oversight ? Websites are a quick way to get someone's interest, and show your stuff.
