Default Great looking install

Now that is going to be a really nice engine in this car. Couple of questions:

1. Any mod's?
2. What is the engine out of (or is it a crate engine)?
3. Any significant challenges fitting the engine?
4. Why this set up rather than a Ford 5.8L SVO? (Just curious)
5. Is it on the road yet?
6. Like the color you selected, what color is it?
7. Did you put the Motec on this engine and what transmission are you using?

Default I have a question as well

What fuel tank are you using and does it have an in tank fuel pump or one mounted in line?

Good luck with the build, great color.

Thumbs up LS1 in Cobra

I'm putting an LS1 in a Cobra as well. Very light & powerful motor, with all of the 1990s/2000 technology. Using a B&B kit, and running a 6 speed transmission.

Here's some directories of pics (more to follow)

I'd be interested to see any pictures of LS1 installations in Cobras, to see how they have dealt with issues I am encountering (headers/engine mounts/6 speed/clutch).

Couple reasons to choose the LS1 over the 4.6.

Smaller (Not having those overhead cams saves a LOT of room)
Lighter (Aluminum block & heads) 385# If I can remember off the top of my head.
345hp stock? 4.6 Mustang gt motor is 260. Cobra DOHC is 320ish.

ls1 can use the six lt. truck intake for more low end tourque.
can use corvet oil pan for clearence and cooling.
can use truck oil cooling lines for front cooler.
can have 11.2/1 and still run 93 gas.
rev limit can be 7000.
trans can be t56 /r
clutch can use hydraulic throw out bearing.
can make 450 hp.
can get 25 mpg.
custome brackets make it just over 350 lb.
computer can be modified for type of use.
what more can you ask for?
