Default Camaro Or Vette Donor Car Kit?

DOES ANY ONE MAKE A KIT SIMILAR TO THE " FFR KIT THAT USES A MUSTANG DONOR CAR"? I AM INTERESTED IN A KIT THAT USES A LATE MODEL CAMARO OR A C4 VETTE. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT! THANKS AHEAD OF TIME.

The Beck/Avanti Lister is based on the C4 Corvette.

Another possibility is the Cobra that Vettestr builds. I know that he does a C3 based Cobra but he had plans to do a C4 based one but I have not seen any update on his web so it may not be quite ready yet. His web is at http://www.cobrasnvettes.com/index.html.

I think that there are a couple of others but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Maybe search this web a little more if oyu don't get any more responses.

Just my opinion, but while the C4/C5 would be a very good chassis to build any number of kit cars upon (the Lister sounds interesting), I would avoid using Chevvy parts on a Cobra. While the performance could be good, it would still be an oddball, and you would take it in the shorts when it came time to sell.

Now I have nothing against Corvettes, or Brand X, as my Cobra club calls them (I've owned four Plastic Chevvies and my daily driver is an '87 with over 210K miles on it), I think you will find that the closer you keep your Cobra to the original (within reason), the more satisfaction you will have with your machine. Again, just my opinion. Rich

I've probably gone about as far as you can using a '95 camaro donor. LT1, T56, wiring harnesses, radiator, fans, ECM, clutch, tranny mount, bunch of small stuff. PITA if your not into "projects"... I found it to be fun with the FFR chassis.

I build Cheetah replicas, which use the C-4 Vette parts.

Hunter Kit Cars in Ocala, Florida, makes a Cobra kit that uses the 84-87 Corvette suspension and rear end, and you can use the Chevy engine also. It comes in a 90 or 96 inch wheelbase. The email address is cobrahunter@earthlink.net.
