Default Web Sites

I'm also looking into starting a LS1 Shell Valley Cobra next winter, if everything goes as planned. Kind of a pricey engine, so I'm also looking into using a 6.0 chevy engine. I'd be interested in finding any info that you may have.

Hi Ernie,

There's at least one SPF in the US with an LS1. LS1AC on this forum has a Superformance with an LS1 in it. I had a good chat with him and checked out his car at DVSF2.

Hi sexxyTA,

There's at least 9 of us down here that I know that are running LS1s in their Cobras and plenty more that I don't know. My motor is a brand new F-Body crate motor sourced from the US. The Aussie Holden Commodore is a good source of LS1 motors down here as well and is basically the same motor.

The LS1 motor fits in really nice. It's a very compact light weight motor. The tuning potential is phenominal and guys down here are making some huge HP numbers with these motors. Check out my gallery for some pics of the build.

Cheers

SPF / Chevy? You bet. My friend Sandy, just outside of Akron Ohio has a beauty with a ZZ502 and a 700R4. Sweet ride and 18MPG, when he keeps his foot out of it. I liked his car so well that I built mine but with a considerably smaller budget. I get lots of comments about the blasphemy and backwards engine, but its my car, no way do I try to portray it as an original, it sure keeps a smile on my face and a whole lot of Ford powered cars behind me. (not all by any means, but a bunch)

What is wrong with putting a Chevy engine in a Ford to make it run. After all, the Chevy guys put Mopars in their Chevys to make them run.
