Default LSx Alternator Relocation

Posting this just incase someone does a search. Decided to relocate the alternator from down below, no offense to the aussie bowtie crowd , to up top infront of the passengerside head. Reason for doing this is I didn't cut the motor mounts that FFR put on the frame. Instead I modified the existing mustang mounts to work on an LSx block. Well by doing this it moved some stuff in the way and I really wasn't liking the alternator where it was. Since the guy that makes em isn't a vendor here shoot me a PM or an email and I'll forward the info..

Here's some pics:

Tails, that kit will only work with the cable operated throttle body and will not work with the FBW throttle body. It also involves purchase of a new alternator making the relocation a bit expensive.

For those with FBW engines and the standard holden alternator can relocate the standard alternator to the top of the LH head just like the corvette engines.

Here is the kit. http://www.kwikperf.com/

Not as nice as the kit you showed but gets the job done. If you use fuel rail covers the agricultural look sorta disappears.

Actually, once you have the bolt pattern from the front of the left hand head you can make a set yourself rather than spend money.

Uncle Mike could make this kit easy.

I am building a new car with the LS engine. I am only using an alternator. I need it to be low on the drivers side. I used a very expensive kit on my other car from Street and Performance and would like a less expensive option. Can you guys in the know point me in the right direction? Thanks, John

Here's what I'm using. The photo is a pre-production kit for the LS7. The final version will have black anodize brackets and a fixed tensioner. You might check with them on an alternator-only option. Pricing was very reasonable. I worked with Michael at www.krcpower.com

Thanks for the info. I will check with Michael and see what we can work out. I see that you have an angled water pump outlet. I used a straight outlet from Street and Performance for my application. It made the radiator hose hook up a lot easier. A little pricey but it works. Good luck with your project. It looks awesome!
