CVCC June 23rd meet

CVCC meeting....June 23rd.

June 17th is Fathers Day so it might make it easier to do this June 23rd.

Ok, lets hear some thoughts now you guys!!!

We need a place and time.

Jamo 05-24-2007 10:21 PM

Received this e-mail at our office the other day...

Good Afternoon, Rose!

I hope this email finds you well. As per our conversation, I wanted to see if Ron and the Shelby Cobra Club were interested in having a display at the 6th Annual K-Jewel Air Show & Fly-In on Saturday, June 16th at Chandler Airport in Fresno. Jim Parnagian had passed on his contact information to me and said the cars in the club are just beautiful. We would love to have him and the other members in the club show-off their fabulous cars at this wonderful event!

Just to give you a brief overview of the event, this is the 6th Annual Air Show & Fly-In that K-Jewel has hosted at Chandler Executive Airport. This year it will be free to the public with an anticipated crowd of 10,000+ attendees. The event will take place on Saturday, June 16th from 9AM to 4PM. The show hosts 6 air show acts, fly-ins, a motorcycle stunt show, static displays, military aircraft and interactive displays, a kids' zone, food and craft vendors, car displays and the list goes on.

If he is interested, please have him complete the attached forms (the booth cost is not applicable) and fax them to me as soon as possible at 439.2243. If you should have any questions or would like more information for Ron, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you,
Andrea Machado

I used to autocross with Parnegian, and ran into him at Dick's funeral. I'm not sure I can go yet (depends on daughter's grad party schedule), but something to keep in mind. The Chandler Airport is right where the four lane ended on the way to the cemetary, so easy access.

June 23 for June meet looks ok so far for me...maybe give Castle another try?

RedCSX1 05-24-2007 10:52 PM

And the other option PISMO BEACH!!!!!

Fathers Day Rod Run in Pismo is always a good time with a Cobra! Smaller car show on Sunday. :D

June 16 and 17th

just giving this a bump to find out the status for next meet... Jeff McKay

RedCSX1 06-01-2007 06:33 AM

Fathers Day weekend is bad for me. I will be in MoroBay/Pismo Beach area that weekend. However I think I am good most other weekends. Called about the car show in Pismo and they are expecting 1000 cars however not mine because I refuse to pay 85.oo for a simple car show.

We need to pick some place that has nice roads to drive.

jmarsey 06-01-2007 07:50 AM

If you'all make it on the 23rd I will try to come down.

John

June 23rd CVCC meet

Jeff, John, Morgan, hey guys...the 23rd is a good day for most it sounds liike. Lets find a place somewhere that has nice windy roads in the foothills without too many RVs blocking them......??? Whatever you guys pick for a drive is great, the higher the elevation the cooler it will be, however there will be those busses and RVs in certain parks etc....so lets pick a drive that will allow us to drive in something other than 2nd gear!!!:D :D :D

if possible!!

RedCSX1 06-01-2007 12:13 PM

Yep the 23 is a good day. Now lets pick some place that is nice to drive to! This is tough in the Merced -> direction.

Bass Lake area would be good.:)

cindrrrr 06-01-2007 12:57 PM

Bass Lake!

its getting better and better! The Forks has great food, (famous Cheeseburgers) if someone is hungry plus they have shakes, malts, ice cream sundae stuff kind of a 50s type?? The lake isnt too crazy yet, its beautiful right now.

jmarsey 06-01-2007 01:30 PM

Bass Lake looks absolutely beautiful!

Sherry's Road House Car Show June 2nd

And the roads above Bass Lake are awesome for a Cobra!:D

Oh, Sherry's Road House is having a Car and Motorcycle show tomorrow (Saturday).
Located at the corner of Friant and Auberry Road. Its a local biker bar that serves up some good BBQ.

Richard Stokes and I are planning to head down around 10:00 AM

Jamo 06-01-2007 04:34 PM

Jamo looked for you. About 50 cars and Bikes everywhere along with the Jack Daniels Tour bus and a bunch of strippers. Hey it was a good way to waste a Saturday.

atmking 06-03-2007 12:01 PM

I'll have to make the next one... in Michigan the 23rd... Jeff

cindrrrr 06-06-2007 11:28 PM

Congrats Morgan! Very cool! Your car is a beauty!

Have you guys nailed down any details for the 23rd? Lets start somewhere in the valley and head up to the much cooler mountains? Jamo and Morgan, isn't there a back way to get to the lake thru Friant/North Fork part? I cant remember, but it would probably be more fun and less RVs etc if we can take some nice back roads to the lake.

Lets pick a spot and meet in Fresno, one of the kids and I will be coming down there to just come back up here, but wouldnt miss it!!

Congrats to youse! ;)

Had to catch up on work, and we were baptizing Logan on Sunday...wait a minute, did you say strippers? You never mentioned strippers!

RedCSX1 06-08-2007 12:50 PM

OK, Lets meet again at the ......

Damn diner for the Fresno folks. Then head up the way to Ducey's or the Diner on Bass Lake. Shoot to be there by 11:00 AM Target 12:00 for lunch.
If anyone is up for a short drive we can head up Grizzly road for a little ways. I think most can handle the spirited drive that Grizzly Road has to offer. All the twist and turns occur in the first 15 miles and that would be up hill from the lake.

YES STRIPPER'S  :D **)

Along with a tatoo booth and everything else. Felt more like I was at Daytona Beach for bike week than a car show.
